2013 Can Am Outlander Gage / Speedometer upgrade (from XT to XT-P)

- This is a 2013 Can Am Outlander Max XT with the factory gage / speedometer for the regular, DPS and XT versions. I didn't like that version and thought I'd buy the gage / speedometer and gage support for the XT-P or Limited Outlander.
I re-searched this and located the parts on www.gearhead.com for the cheapest I could find on the internet (including Ebay).
Part numbers are:
710003299 - Speedometer
705006322 - Gage Support

The speedometer is on a (2) month or (60) day back order. I ordered mine in mid February and recieved it in mid April.
I DID NOT take anything apart prior to making this video. I filmed it myself and am sorry that I had to figure it out while on camera, however I wanted to share this video so that Outlander owners with thoughts of doing this themselves could see that it is easy, that it works and that it soooooooooooo worth it!!
PS: The temp gage works right out of the box, as in the Outlanders are already wired for temp recording and the factory gage doesn't have the ability to read it.
No tools required.
Michael, it is my understanding that it will. And I would totally do it! It is nice to have the temp reading.
Thanks 1046RougeCop, because of this video I did this to my 2014 Outlander MAX XT 650 and everything works, even temperature gauge. My original cluster was p/n 710003454 and the new XT-P was p/n 710003870 with the XT-P plastic cowl p/n 705006322. NOTE: since the 2014 cluster in 650cc XT-P was listed as unvailable on BRP website, it was listed as for an 800R and 1000R - all same p/n anyway. It was around $450 CAD with tax for both (except stickers). BRP seems to change p/n every year on these so order same year as ur ATV cause I don`t know if a different year cluster works. Easy install, just make sure the 2 tabs on the bottom of the new cluster are inserted BEHIND the support bracket and then pivot the top into place until top tabs click. Cable should run straight down and then curl up to avoid strain on the connections at the plug. You`ll love it!!!

I tried this on my outlander max xt 650 2013, works perfect. U have to order the gauge , gauge support , brp logo for gauge & stickers for the support. Worth every dollar. Hours remain but kms reset.
Thanks for the video. I have a 2013 Outlander Max 500 DPS that was in a wreck and given to me. Doing a rebuild on it. The original cluster and mount was destroyed in the wreck so since I have to buy a new cluster anyways this is nice to know. Thanks again!

looks good man but for the cost of that i would have put the money to replacing those stock carlyle tires. they made it about 50km on my machine before ditching them.

What doesn't work with this? Are there any problems you ran into? Thinking about doing it, but it's a lot of money. Would be nice to know any failures, or faults you've ran into.

+Claudio Araneda Yes it'll fit! You'll just have to take it to the dealership so they can sync the miles/engine hours and such.
is Can Am Outlander legal to ride on motorway (UK)?, I am planing a world tour from London to Mongolia with quad bike or motorbike :)
