Lan Wangji was never able to get close to anyone due to his strict upbringing and losing his mother so young. Also his demeanour made most people afraid of him. But here comes Wei Wuxian, irreverent, funny, adorable, who wasn't afraid to challenge him and break down those walls- I think that drew Lan Wangji in initially- Lan Wangji had never met anyone like Wei Wuxian, he couldn't help but fall in love. Brilliantly acted btw.!
Well said! LWJ had never met anyone like Wei Ying - I wouldn't say "love at first sight", but he was defintely intrigued by WWX's personality, who was like a breath of fresh air. I agree 100% about the acting for both leads but especially Yibo, he was fabulous

It's because of Hollywood conditioning and ideas of romance. Sex is part of true love but it also isn't. Not really. Because that love transcends the physical. It comes from somewhere not of this world. I'm in episode 3 but I love the idea that the love in this drama is depicted beautifully without them clawing at each other.

This chapter dropped so many hints that are missed on the first watch. I've watched many times and just chuckle at how easy LWJ fell in love. It's so obvious now. LWJ facial expressions only change for WWX. He saw how smart and talented he was from the first meeting. LXC saw those tense hands and teased his poor didi about the fight ending in a tie, when we all know that wasn't a tie. Big brother knew everything from the start.
He also lets only Wei Ying to call him Lan Zhan. Not even XiChen calls him like that. In China only very close people can call someone by their birth names, and it was even more important in the past. WangJi is his courtesy name, just like WuXian is for Wei Ying. The fact he didn't correct Wei Ying shows he already accepted him as someone close. And in later episodes he reacts mostly when he is called by his birth name.

It's me, but it's just second time.
Now, the Untamed is the best love story I’ve watched. The eyes never lie. I watched it when it came out and I added a story on my social media. My girlfriend who was my friend at the time , got intrigued and watched it. We met in school and we started talking all about it. That’s how we got close and later became lovers. She even drew a whole book of their story for me . Strangely, I always resembled Lan Zhan and she resembled Wei Ying, so it’s our nicknames for each other. Our story is almost like if LZ and WY had theirs in the modern world. So, needless to say, besides it showing what pure love is , not just in a relationship but also between family, friends and strangers, it holds a special place in my heart as it led me to the love of my life
The fight scene on the roof when the two first met, that was so sensual and beautiful! I have watched it at least ten times!!

you shouldn't be reading the comments before finishing the drama. there will be lots of spoilers and explanations that are not part of the drama itself. there are some things left out of context or left out of the drama all together. reading the novel does help but i don't think it's needed in order to understand the drama.
Just keep going...this is the only way.we all followed it and now are back successfully 😂😂
keep watching you'll get less confused and will get addicted to it :) at least, that's what happened to me (I didin't get confused at all though) and I rewatched it a couple of times, then watched the anime and now I'm reading the novel while rewatching it again

This drama is based on the novel and unlike the novel, the drama doesn't need all the sexual stuff for you to understand that. You can see it in their 👀 and their actions. It's the best romance drama in my opinion.
i think its something like love at first sight for wwx too (if not love at least he was stunned by his beauty). in ep1 when wwx saw the GusuLan robes on the juniors at the Mo estate, he immediately flashed back to this scene when he saw lwj for the first time. lwj's entrance definitely left a deep impression.

Dude I agree. I'm rewatching ep 3 for the first time now (after finishing the series) and I really think LZ was a goner from the beginning. If you pay attention, when the Jiang clan introduces themselves, he makes direct eye contact with JC and JYL, but refuses to meet WWX's eyes. Then we see him stop and...feel satisfied(?), amused, or curious, when he hears WWX's struggling after enacting the silencing charm before he starts walking again. I'm convinced that he wouldn't do that or react that way to anyone else.
Oh, ALSO! He has a (relatively, for LZ, haha) big reaction when WWX tells him that it's a "pity" that female cultivators swoon over him. Imagine if anyone else said that... LZ would just be like, fuck if I care? with a stone cold face. But WWX was pressing his buttons from the start. 😍

Same but I've been obsessed with this one at first I watched the anime but it wasn't complete. So looking on Google I found that there's a manga and a novel. At first I read the manga but it's not complete but it is ongoing. And I'm reading the novel, and the facts here are not different from the manga. Then I found out there is a film about it, I'll be honest at first I wasn't gonna watch it, but in my Google updates(you know when you open Google underv there are article about stuff your interested in)and it had an article about "untamed" saying that the show now on Netflix is a good way to pass the quarantine, and here I am.
Wow why did I just rant about stuff I only had to say that that I love the show, even though I don't usually watch or go on a desperate hunt to find what happenes next and... I'm going off topic again.
