Even tough he was insisting not to accept the truth, I think he was quite respectful. He just doesn't want to accept it from the heart. So there is no need to hit him with " just like Samuel"
May Allah guide him to the right path as well.
Make dua to people when you have a debate with non-believers, especially if they are respectful.

@@EngagingWithIslam Oh hey, it's you, didn't expect to see you here.
For the reactions you get here, it's psychologically natural. When you present an opposing idea against someone's religion, people tend to become protective, regardless of their religious affiliation. So, I'm not justifying their reactions, but I believe those are nothing personal.
If you're sensitive about it, you might want to try to find a different approach, maybe with a more questioning attitude rather than definitive oppositions.
There are two hadiths related to this situation that I want to share. Regardless of your view, I hope you can appreciate these wise words, both as a glimpse of the religion and perhaps to improve your thought process.
“Actions are but by intention and each person will have but that which he intended.”
“Actions are (judged) by motives, so each man will have what he intended. Thus, he whose migration was to Allah and His Messenger, his migration is to Allah and His Messenger; but he whose migration was for some worldly thing he might gain, or for a wife he might marry, his migration is to that for which he migrated.”
If I were you, I would always leave at least a small possibility that this man could truly be the Prophet of God, in which any disrespect could lead to negative consequences in the afterlife. Moreover, I believe there is a thin line between Christianity and Islam. Once you adjust a couple of aspects, the probability is not implausible, I hope you realize that.
With your approach to Islam, as long as you maintain a pure intention, remain respectful to the Prophet (pbuh), and seek to understand who God really is, I believe you'll be guided.
Anyway, we're all in a trial, good luck on your path.

Otherwise it would be written as [‘if they SHOULD see a sign, they WILL turn away’] instead the translation moves the reaction of the subjects as happening in real time. That they are already doing the turning away and already denouncing what they see as sorcery.

At 25:06, he admits - and at 26:08, he makes his agreement explicit - that the grammar construct “whenever X, [then] Y” doesn't _necessitate_ that X hasn't happened or doesn't happen.
He tries to force the “if X, [then] Y” translation, only to, at 30:50, say there's no difference between “if” and “whenever”, but if - ha ha - if he admitted that “whenever” doesn't necessitate that X hasn't happened and it's the same as “if”, then why would “if” necessitate that?
He continues to force the “if” translation, saying that “whenever means if” to imply that even “whenever” would necessitate that X hasn't happened, despite already admitting that “whenever” can be used for something that has or hasn't happened. That's what makes it a “conditional particle”, as he referred to it as, not a _negation_ particle.
At 29:00, he admits again that it doesn't prove anything either way, but then why would he bring it up to prove the negative?
Moreover, he ignores the explicit verse right before which says, “the moon split” and instead of using the self-admitted mutawatir hadith to eliminate his incorrect interpretation - which he accepts is not the only viable interpretation grammatically - he tries to say that because the hadith conflicts with his interpretation, which is one of multiple, there's a contradition between the Qur'an and hadith.
He tries to claim that the moon-splitting is one of the signs of the Hour to try and deny that it happened at the time of Muhammad ﷺ because the verse says “the Hour has drawn near”, but Muhammad ﷺ himself is one of the signs of the approaching of the Hour.

After seen the soorah 54. I could concluded that the best translation is whenever because the first and third verses showed in past tense. Meaning that the miracled has happened. And if the word if used instead of whenever, so the third verse should also not in past tense. If we look those three verses in context, it still showed that the miracle occured and happend, even the word if been used as translation in verse two. Wallahu a'lam.
Most main point is this pastor believed in trinity.

This is how the word whenever can be defined
      in British English
      CONJUNCTION
      1. (subordinating)
at every or any time that; when
I laugh whenever I see that
      ADVERB also: when ever
      2. no matter when
it'll be here, whenever you decide to come for it
      3.informal
at an unknown or unspecified time
I'll take it if it comes today, tomorrow, or whenever
      4. an intensive form of when, used in questions
      whenever did he escape?
      5. Scottish and Irish
      at the very time when
they welcomed me yesterday. Samuel my friend you seem like a genuine person but please do not believe what you are told about Islam until speak to a Muslim of knowledge. You could walk into literally any mosque in the world and you’d find out the answers instead of taking up the already debunked arguments of Islamophobes, which just make you look desperate and ignorant. Thanks for the opportunity to be on your channel. I wish to clarify things from my end.
The Speakers Corner team brought up a few points I had not considered before and I do not fake an answer if I do not have one. The points were not sufficient to change my mind, in view of what the rest of the Qur'an says, but certainly give me new points to consider, see below . So I was not being stubborn or arrogant; I was actually listening carefully but not overall convinced.
Mansor raised an important verse, Q37:14.
And, when they see a Sign, turn it to mockery, And say, "This is nothing but evident sorcery! "What! when we die, and become dust and bones, shall we (then) be raised up (again) (Qur'an 37:14-16)
This verse was presented to show that Muhammad did miraculous signs but they were said to be magic signs and not signs from God. I had not considered this verse before. It raises the point of why Muhammad was often called a magician? The assumption of the Speakers Corner team is that Muhammad was performing miracles, however, the signs of a magician are his magic words. Notice how 37:15-17 ends, with the words Muhammad was saying. Remember that the words of the Qur'an are called signs. We see the idea that the Qur'an is magic words elsewhere.
And when Our verses (signs) are recited to them as clear evidences, those who disbelieve say of the truth when it has come to them, "This is obvious magic." (Qur'an 46:7)
And he said, "This is merely retold magic" (Qur'an 74:24)
Muhammad is called a magician because he is reciting words just as magicians have their special words they recite not because he is doing miracles.
Here are the 13 verses I was hoping to present about Muhammad and miracles. These verses answer the other issues brought up. They are in chronological order and all after 54:1-2.
    ***
They say: "If only he would bring us a miracle from his Lord!" Has there not come unto them the proof of what is in the former scriptures? (Qur’an 20:133)
Why are not (signs) sent to him, like those which were sent to Moses? (Qur’an 28:48)
And nothing has prevented Us from sending signs except that the former peoples denied them. And We gave Thamud the she-camel as a visible sign, but they wronged her. And We send not the signs except as a warning. (Qur’an 17:59)
Or you have a house of gold or you ascend into the sky. And [even then], we will not believe in your ascension until you bring down to us a book we may read." Say, "Exalted is my Lord! Was I ever but a human messenger?" (Qur'an 17:93)
And they say, "Why is a sign not sent down to him from his Lord?" So say, "The unseen is only for Allah [to administer], so wait; indeed, I am with you among those who wait." (Qur’an 10:20)
Then would you possibly leave [out] some of what is revealed to you, or is your breast constrained by it because they say, "Why has there not been sent down to him a treasure or come with him an angel?" But you are only a warner. And Allah is Disposer of all things. (Qur’an 11:12)
They say, “Why has no sign from His lord been sent down to him?” Say [in response], “God is able to send down a sign, but most of them do not know.” (Qur’an 6:37)
They swear their strongest oaths by God, that if a (special) sign came to them, by it they would believe. Say: "Certainly (all) signs are in the power of God: but what will make you (Muslims) realise that (even) if (special) signs came, they will not believe."? (Qur'an 6:109)
But they say, "[The revelation is but] a mixture of false dreams; rather, he has invented it; rather, he is a poet. So let him bring us a sign just as the previous [messengers] were sent [with miracles]." (Qur’an 21:5)
But they say, "Why are not signs sent down to him from his Lord?" Say, "The signs are only with Allah , and I am only a clear warner." (Qur'an 29:50)
Those who do not know say, "Why does Allah not speak to us or there come to us a sign?" Thus spoke those before them like their words. Their hearts resemble each other. We have shown clearly the signs to a people who are certain [in faith]. (Qur’an 2:118)
And those who disbelieved say, "Why has a sign not been sent down to him from his Lord?" You are only a warner, and for every people is a guide. (Qur’an 13:7)
And those who disbelieved say, "Why has a sign not been sent down to him from his Lord?" Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, Allah leaves astray whom He wills and guides to Himself whoever turns back [to Him]” (Qur’an 13:27)
    ***
    1. If Muhammad had split the moon you could not have these 13 verses coming after that event.
    2. How can Muhammad still be waiting for a sign (Q10:20) if he has already split the moon?
    3. Where does the Qur'an say the Qur'an is Muhammad's only miracle? By repeatedly saying he is only a warner when challenged to do a miracle.
The Sira. It is telling that the splitting of the moon is not recorded in the sira of Ibn Ishaq, ibn Sa'd, Ibn Hisham, and Al-Tabari. It exists exegetically not historically.
    Finally, when Jesus says,
Jesus answered, “Evil and sinful people are the ones who want to see a miracle for a sign. But no sign will be given to them, except the sign of the prophet Jonah. (Matthew 12:39)
Is this the same situation with Muhammad? No, because in Jesus' case, it is clearly recorded that he was doing miraculous signs elsewhere, whereas, with Muhammad, it is not recorded in the Qur'an that he was doing miraculous signs elsewhere, in fact, it says the opposite.
It is for these reasons that I still hold the view that the Qur'an says Muhammad did no miracle except for the Qur'an.
I hope to visit the channel again. Grace and peace.

A message to Samuel: 'If' you are seeking the truth, there are two things you need to put down before you start that journey "Arrogance” and ‘Hate”. You will never get to the truth when you are in a state of hate or when you are looking down to the religion you are trying to understand or the people who believe in it. Do you think you are coming today more 1400 years after the Quran was revealed to the profit to tell all the Muslims across all the centuries that you came up with the genius meaning that no one of the scholars ever was able to figure out? Also, do you think none of the native Arab disbelievers ever got from reading these verses? You need to learn from someone who is not loaded with hate and arrogance with an open heart and mind first. Only then you will see Quran with completely new perspective and pure mind. It is not about ‘How can I prove these people wrong’ but it is more about ‘Is this really the truth?’ ‘Will it affect me after my death?’ ‘Can I save my self through sincere attempt to understand?’ It is your failure or success in the after life that you are playing with.
