- I'm back with my second speed design video! In this video, I'm designing a premade book cover in Photoshop. Premade book covers are covers that I design, then indie authors or publishers can purchase the final designed product. At the time of purchase I change the title and author name to match their books.
You'll notice in this video, I started without a clear vision (or even stock images downloaded). But once I pulled the initial stock image, the vision can to fruition: a fantasy book cover with swords and flowers everywhere!
Layering textures, changing colours, and playing with the typography really brought this book cover together. The end product is a great cover for a fantasy or fantasy romance novel!

why not use illustrator for text and indesign for the final alignment? can you do all in one in photoshop? doesn't the raster program make the text pixelated?
Great suggestion! I've not had any problems with pixelation yet, but definitely going to give your method a try!

It is photoshop! Photoshop may seem intimidating to learn, but it's not as bad as it looks! I highly recommend it :)
