News Photog here, the bean bag is a great idea for shooting over the shoulder while wanting to Zoom. 9 times outta 10 over the shoulder shots work best by staying wide and your body acting like the tripod. great tips!
Shoulder work is so underrated. However, I sometimes feel like the monitor would be too close to my face, I'd have to go cross-eyed to look at it, so I invested in very sturdy Wooden Camera Ultra Arms.
Yeah! That is true. Getting the monitor in the right place is always tricky! The Ultra Arm sounds like a good solution. I need to look into that. Thanks for watching!!
This is a fantastic video, Joel! I've never run a shoulder rig so I probably would have easy rigged it or gimbled it. Anytime I use the easy rig I def get more attention than I'd like but I do feel comfortable with it. Very interested in the Pico mics though, I use the G4's now, but that system you have looks a lot more seamless. I've avoided the rode and dji for teh exact reason you state, they look awkward on talent/interviewees. Good stuff man!
Totally agreed on strapped beanbag/cinesaddle vs ezyrig. Don't get me wrong, the ezyrig is a great tool but it feels so restrictive. It's hard to explain 😅
Love watching your video's Joel! Can you do a color grading tutorial of your FX3 clips? Those top golf shots look great!
Absolutely! Thanks so much. I will incorporate my process in a future video for sure. Thanks for watching!
I second that
This video is a true work of art. Masterful!
Thanks!!!

Absolutely! I agree. I always like staying wide and doing a slight move. Always looks good! Thanks for watching and commenting!

Thanks so much bro! I appreciate you watching! I would definitely recommend the picos!
Can you please do a rig breakdown? That's exactly what I've been looking to make.
Sure thing! I will incorporate that into a future video!

Joel. Once again another informative video. Quick question: what ramp are you using to upload and download your cart into the van?
Does your matte box lid get in the way of capturing audio? (Or is that just for scratch?)
Great info. What size rat bag do you have? Sorry if I missed that bit of info
Thanks for watching!! This is the Large version.
Great work! How much did you charge for this and what were the final deliverables?
So this gig was through a production company. I didn't do any of the pre or post. I charged a day rate with camera kit. It ranged between $850-$1250
Did you get a new matte box? Built in nd?
Im using the NISI C5. I love it! amzn.to/3Sz0GwD

You and @lensofjared are really making me want the tamron
Dude! It's a good one! If it was slightly wider it would be the perfect lens.
