Telo Truck :: The Electrifying Reinvention of the Mini Truck

  • The next generation of mini trucks has decided to go electric. That's right, this little powerhouse is ditching the gas guzzlers and embracing the spark of electricity. Imagine a mini truck with the heart of a Tesla and the charm of a classic pickup, all wrapped up in a package that could practically fit in your pocket (well, almost).

    I hope these small truck companies actually make this happen. Such a need for them right now. Lots of people want a truck that isn't a monstrosity.

    Great design. I really hope they make it. The idea of choosing between a 8 ft box and a back seat is very reasonable and being 2000lb lighter and smaller is good

    I like the direction it's going in. It will fit/park anywhere you want it to. I think the projected price is a bit high but all cars are costing way too much. The only thing that bothers me are the exposed front wheels. I don't really see a bumper of any kind that would pass NHTSA requirements and I'd be worried about having something hit the tires. Most cars and trucks have less than half their diameter exposed, being covered by the front bumper and body panels. I'd rather have the body panel take the hit than the tires. This size truck would be really nice for me. I could see using it for all kinds of things although adding a roof-rack is going to be an issue since the truck is so low people will run into things on the roof-rack. The wheels are also small. They look like 14" diameter making them more difficult to purchase. BFGoodrich does make All-Terrain tires for 14" wheels but they still look small for a truck.

    I actually like the way the Telo looks. I mean it's not as beautiful as a Jaguar XK-E Series 1 or even a 1st generation Miata, but it does have the kind of rugged attractiveness I look for in a pickup. I really like the idea of a small pickup like this, and I think the basic design has a lot of promise. My main concern is that this truck is sort of in the proof of concept stage. Everything is possible from actually delivering a vehicle that does all the things they're promising to total failure. I am a little concerned about the cargo into the cab feature. It sounds cool until you consider the possibility of the a stack of 4x8 plywood sheets will slam into the driver and passenger in the event of an accident. There's also concerns about rainwater. I'm definitely keeping an eye on this one, but we'll have to see what it is when they actually hit the market with production vehicles.

  • @ChristianBehnke
    @ChristianBehnke Před 8 měsíci +5

    I don't know why EV makers are always giving such importance to torque / HP / 0-60 time. I just want a reliable vehicle with decent range! Correct me if I'm wrong, but the specs on this seem overkill for the size of the vehicle.
    The style is interesting, kinda like a cybertruck crossed with a Canoo. I don't hate it but don't love it.

I’m liking the front but seems like it needs a bumper 😅 and the side looks good to but I don’t understand that slated bandaid thing across the door and lastly $50,000+ is way out of my range. add to that its a new company with proprietary stuff in the mix and if it folds a year into your making payments on your new $50,000 EV?
