  • Today, I took a look at the 2” backing plate for the Flex PXE-80. It’s an amazing addition to the PXE-80 mini polisher. Take a look at the video for more info.

That polisher and TW new trim restorer/coating were the only thing that intrigued me. Truly in love with that quick connect on that polisher. B well good

Not sure what was meant trying to see if there was any added power? I’m sure the unit has enough power as do most other polishers. Personally I don’t see the need for a 1” difference from 3 to 2. Just a thought but might help more to see it used in a more “real world” situation and to use it in a spot where we might actually need to use a smaller pad instead of an open area where we would use a 3, 5 or 6” backing plate. Just an idea. Thanks for sharing though.

More power because of less surface area. I showed I a real world piece in the pillars. Think about any smaller areas that need more accuracy like door jams, number areas, fenders, etc. Thanks for watching

That PXE 80 is awesome!!! Just did a correction with it. Used my ShineMate 5” and the PXE 80 with the 3” setup. Definitely could of used the 2” plate in some areas. Guess I will just have to get one!!!
    Thanks for the video!

Nice review, Benji! That Flex machine is definitely one to think seriously about. And that Mckees37 Complete Swirl Remover looks like it did a great job too. I've not tried anything yet from them that disappointed me.

Great video! Did you check at the new Griot’s Micro Polisher at Sema this year?

Great presentation just like I expect! And I do love that McKees new polishes. They are just top notch in my book. So we're getting overwhelmed sometimes. How many different great polishes are out there in the market. But this 2-in really looks like something I need to think about. I have been debating between the Rupes and Griots machines and some others in that size range. Do you think this one is the best one? Merry Christmas!

I got the APS version of this 2” plate & it’s a little different than the Flex version. Metal core & probably a little more durable.

How much was the metal BP? I think this will last if you take care of it.

@@DetailingBreakdown it’s $20 but it’s also stronger as far as absorbing pressure & heat. Since I got the APS one, I haven’t touched the OEM Flex one.

Yep another benefit of the APS one is that they built it out of a urethane type material. Less worry of edge damage when approaching 90 degree corners.
I think it was about 25-30 bucks.
