FAQ:
1. Should I add a preservative to my Body Butter?
✨Answer: You can, but it is not necessary. (especially for personal use)
Reason: Avoid putting wet hands into the jar. Use a wooden spoon. Once water is introduced to the product, it is contaminated and will grow bacteria, mold, etc. If you can avoid water getting into the product, then you are safe and do not need a preservative. This body butter will last as long as the shelf life of your ingredients. When it comes to oils and butters, the shelf life is usually 12 months or more.

Hi all! Today’s video has taken years of research and practice and I am still trying to perfect ways to naturally color body butter without mica, dyes, or having to introduce water or a preservative.
I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas. 💜😊
NOTE: The Moringa infused oil and Yellow oil blend can stain the skin, but it absorbs well. Those with fairer skin will see the stain until it absorbs. This is another area of natural, oil-soluble colorants for body butters that I am trying to work out. 😊💜
Thank you so much for your years of research. I have been looking for a way to naturally color my body butters. Thank you. I have searched and you have been the only one to answer my question.
Great color demonstration! For purple you could infuse butterfly pea tea powder in fraction coconut oil and then add a couple drops of lemon oil for it to turn purple
Wow!! I will definitely give try this. Thank you! 😊💜
Thank you! I will try that as well!
Interesting. I've always used turmeric for my yellow. Paprika for brown. Beet root powder for pink. Hibiscus tea leaves infused in whatever oil I'm using for red. Blue Chamomile for my blues. Glad to know of other options.
Thank you for sharing. I tried infusing hibiscus in oil, but it did not turn red. I usually get red when I infuse it in water or glycerin. I will try again. Thank you for the suggestions. 😊💜
@@YayaDIYCreations it was a three week process on that hibiscus infusion. Whew! Kept it in a Mason jar in direct sunlight for three weeks.
I used hibiscus powder to create oil infusion, then filtered it. It looks red but after sometime the powder settles in the bottom and oil turns less red, have to shake it again. Inspite of filtering, some powder/ pigment settles in the bottom. What can i do?
@@pripri8814 what do you use to filter? Maybe you can try cheesecloth?
@Twisted Lyf of TV mine is in oil and wasn't seeing that deep pink... it's only being infusing for a week though. Thanks

Love the video! Very useful information. I am looking forward to seeing the pink & purple colorants ♥️
Thank you! I will do my best to perfect then and get them out. 😊💜
@@YayaDIYCreations Yaaaay! I am a beginner at making body & hair products and I use the hibiscus flower with vegetable glycerin to extract the pink colour and it comes out really nice and with a bright pink colour when I make it but after a few days, the colour changes, so I don’t know if it’s one of the ingredients that alters the colour or it’s just not strong enough to last. I am looking for natural alternative colorants
Wonderful, thank you so much 😊
Thank you! Happy to help. 😊💜
I love the brightness of the yellow! Can turmeric also be infused in oil to give a yellow color?
Awesome as always!! The problem I have with using mica is the glitters in the powder. This video was so on time!! You never fail...thanks Yay, Blessings
Thank you! Yes, I agree. There is not much versatility with mica. Well, unless you are getting the kind used for soaps. Body butters are much harder to color. 💜💜
Love it channel pls does cocoa butter tone the skin thank u
That’s a great experiment 👍🏽
Thank you! 😊💜
love it❤
Thank you! 😊💜
Beautiful Ya Ya.
Thank you! 😊💜
Super
nice
Lovely video YaYa! I make and sell a Sea Buckthorn and Buriti Face Butter (in the UK)! Those oils do produce a lovely bright yellow.
Thank you! Yes, they are beautiful together! 😊💜

I always like ur videos, they're informative and nice to watch. Not sure if u looked into it but beetroot powder is a great colorant with pretty good benefits for the skin.
It wouldn't stain skin? Every time I touch beetroot anything, I'm stained for days.
I have beet root powder, but I thought it was water-soluble. I will definitely test it out and also look into whether it stains. 😊💜
Maybe I didn’t use the beet root powder properly mine was gritty .
How do I get like pink purple yellow like the rainbow 🌈 oils
Anythink for pink and lavender colour
Did you get the purple and red?
Enjoyed! I have blue tansy oil and will try soon. Do you prefer adding oil before or after butters solidify?
Thank you for watching! I believe after would be best. This way you can see how much you are adding and get the color you are looking for. 😊💜
Very interesting channel and my new abo! ☺️ 💕
Does anybody know, if the Oslove-shop also ship to Europe (Germany)?
I can't figure it out..... 🧐
Greetings from Germany.....🤗
What color can produce black naturally? Or what can you suggest? Love your channel btw. Just liked your video!
Thank you!! I have not found a black color that is oil-soluble yet. I will look into it. 😊💜
Great Question🙂
im no chemist, just read that
WALNUT HULL/HUSK will give a black die if you let them soak, but we'll have to wait for Yaya to let us know a better answer.
Really what first popped into mind was
SQUID juice😂but i think that does violet or something to that effect.
Do these colors stain clothing?
🙌🏾🙌🏼🙌🏾👽💛💛💛
The issue I have with most micas is that it is staining on the hair. I have also used hibiscus infused in warm water and it was staining as well on the hair. what can you suggest to the stain issue?
Why don't you infuse in oil
Hi can you use these oils in lip glass
Great question! I will look into this and/or test it out. I would definitely be careful not use essential oils, but other oils may be okay for the lips. 😊💜
