Hi Oce, do you find that the body butter (formula #3) with the olivem 1000/glyceryl stearate, produces more of a "soaping" effect than the other two formulas?
Please is the oil phase supposed to weigh the same as water phase?
Could you please formulate an oil free face cream using olivem 1000? I have a pound of it and get it to work well.
Is it okay if I follow all the steps without the ph meter and the temperature gun? I tried making one body butter without these two instruments and it came out just fine, so I wanted to make sure of it before making an entire batch.

What if someone doesn't havw a stick blender and can't get one? I've been meaning to make emulsified hair butter but i only have a hand mixer
Glad you found it helpful . I haven’t used a hand mixer to do an emulsion but I have seen other formulators that use one . You are welcome to try but my recommendation would be a stick blender

Hello! What a wonderful video. I have learned so much. I want to make a lotion with fruit, is that something that can be done, to put fresh fruit in cream? If I'm going to use kiwi, cucumber and lemon, should I mix it with water in phase water and then simmer.
Although sounds lovely it wouldn't work. It would go rancid very quickly

Hi Oce, On LotionCrafter, the formulation guide for Olivem 1000 is not to exceed an oil phase of 25%, INCLUDING the olivem 1000. It doesn't say, but do you know if a fatty alcohol is used, is it ALSO supposed to be part of the 25% oil phase?
Hi! Yes I am aware of their formulating guide and I have actually tested this . I made an emulsified butter with my oil phase totaling 25% including the emulsifying wax and I did a second formula with,the e.wax and fatty alcohol not being part of the 25% oil phase and it was stable months later . It all comes down to testing your formulas and seeing what works best . Olivem is a temperamental wax in my opinion and you have to test to see what works best in your formula
