Everyone kept extremely calm! Good thing it wasn’t a major problem and the attraction was back up and running in minutes. Thanks for the share.
Now this was scary! Not knowing if you are in danger.
You are not in danger at all don't worry :) Those attractions are very safe and are prepared if a problem happened.
I got stuck on this also for the first time in October 2019 when we were on our family holiday to Florida, I'd previously ridden it multiple times when we were there in 2010 and 2015 and nothing went wrong.
Three bellhop girls were in our Lift/elevator car, so they kept us all company until we were rescued, found out some interesting facts about the Tower of Terror whilst talking with them too 😁👌
We got stuck at the bottom of the shaft in front of the screen when the ride had almost finished 😂
It's a pity that we have no rides like tot here in he United Kingdom 👍
I think this would be one of my worst Disney nightmares. Well done to everyone for keeping so calm!

It was so scary
I was stuck on TOT last May. It was earlier in the ride though after going to the 1st elevator door opening. We were also offered the opportunity to ride again right away or leave. About 1/2 of us rode again without hesitation as they closed our shaft. It was so great and did not mind any delays at all.
How scary! That would freak me out! I have bad anxiety!!!!
No way! I never realized how close the elevator is to the wall. Yikes.

The shaking is a part of the drop profile you guys got, the "Fear Every Drop" profile, which the shaking has been there since it debuted in 1998 when Tower3 came out. I imagine what happened is that the motor overloaded and tripped the e-stop.
That was so exciting! I've been stuck and had to be walked off test track and Living with the Land. I've got stuck at the very top on Space Mountain (that was an interesting experience!) but I've never got stuck on Tower of Terror, one of my favourite rides! I'd have loved to experience that (so long as it was calm like this experience was... 😁)
I have always loved ToT but when I watched it Live with you and Nick I was truly concerned!! I think you guys handled everything wonderfully! I can't wait to come down to ride ToT again!! :)
lol i seen all the safety stuff build into that ride xD even if it would fall to the floor you would be safe cause it's just build so safe
if they would have let it fall when you went down would have been the most scary ride on tower off terror though xD

I have a love hate relationship with ToT, love it, but also terrifying, it always makes me laugh at the end, even though I am getting dropped to my death heehe 😂😂 you can't deny the epic theming and mastermind it is. Getting stuck on a ride is a bummer but being live and on TOT was pretty cool. Let's be glad the screaming girl wasn't on this one. I forget her name. Not sure she would have survived. LOL
That was a bit of a concern but glad it ended ok
The second year it was open my brother and I were stuck for about 5 minutes. The doors were open and we were seating in front seat yelling and waving to the people below. No one was panicking, we were all laughing.
I’ve gotten stuck on Cop, little mermaid ride, haunted mansion. The only ride I’ve gotten evaced off of is the people mover

Don't know how I haven't seen this video until now, but I have to say, being wheelchair-bound and having to ride elevators for a living, it breaking down is exactly why I will never ride Tower of Tower!! I do love it though because the cast members are always in character. When one of them takes me to the regular elevator to the exit where I wait for my party, it freaks me out because they stay in character while taking me in the elevator! I always think they are tricking me and I am going to one of the ride elevators, even though I see there are no seats like the ride elevators!😆😆😆
I remember being stuck at the end of TOT when the lights turned off and back on it was freaky.
I don’t know how i feel to be stuck at that part. I’m not an easy rider on tower of terror and be stuck at that part itself could make me a nervous to sit and wait and even hear the ‘shaky shaky’ is even worst on me XD. Cool the update on sequences, but man its almost a major nope to me. XD

Wow and people were willing to ride again. I'd wait until a few thousand test subjects went first. Scary. Getting Rise of the Resistance passes was a good idea.
This freaked me out again, even when I already knew the outcome.
I saw that live and was freaky! I've been on Tower of Terror and Rock'n Rollercoaster dozens of time and never got stuck on them, but have had it happen on Haunted Mansion and Pirates a lot!
We got stuck on TOT a few years back when our car got stuck when it was supposed to move forward before the drop.
This happened to me not that long ago, but we got stuck before the drop

I would have been done! I was 8 the first time I rode tower of terror. When we got back to our resort I would not ride the elevator. It was years before I was comfortable riding elevators and I was 25 before I rode tower of terror again!
When I was stuck the lights turned on and you are right it has not done that in a long time until now. This is Mia age 7 my mum is heater
Imagine getting stuck on it...but stuck on it during a dropping cycle and you just kept dropping until they got it fixed. Lolol
I’m sure they would hit emergency stop, if that didn’t work then cut the power to the motor generator.
LOL. This has happened to us before- not up at the top it down at the bottom. Lights came on and we just kinda... sat. 😂😬

Oh My Goodness !!! I’m glad everyone got back safely . The last time I was at Disney a few years back now I didn’t go on that ride because I don’t like heights . I’m the person that always get stoped at the top of the Farris wheel if I go on one 👍🏻😊💕

As I examined this mysterious occurrence even closer than seeing it live I realized that The Tower must be haunted. There is no other explanation. Now the family will have to knock me out and drag me on the Tower of Terror and tie me down to the seat before I go on again!! Thanks for the heads up Josh.😅

We got stuck on toy story mania before. People were trying to take pics and videos and the cast members very politely asked them not to do that. But then some people kept on anyway.

calmer than would have been i enjoy tot just not thought of getting stuck on it .
I'm so scared of tower and I would be so stressed.
But I also know tower is built to stop when things go wrong.

In 2006 we were trapped on Mission Space for 38 minutes and it was the most insane 38 minutes of my life!
Tbh the one ride u shouldnt be scared for it going wrong is tower of terror if u look into the safety systems there are like 5 back up systems and if some how all of those fail which is like 1.0x10^-25 chance or smthin (0.0000000000000000000000001 chance) the air in the shaft will be so compressed it will slow down the elevator.

In all of the years I've been going to WDW I've been stopped on rides for a while but never stuck and evacuated.
I’m surprised there wasn’t an announcement that there was a problem or the vehicle would be moving again shortly. 😮
The problem is that the speakers that play it are broken, if you listen closely, you can hear it play out of the speakers outside the drop shaft.

@@patricknedz There are 4 speakers in total attached to the lift VVC (and an additional set mounted in the drop shaft), where the front 2 speakers which were broken at this time play one channel of audio and the rear 2 speakers play the other channel of audio which was working at the time. The front 2 speakers play the breakdown spiel and announcements from the CM's.

I’ll tell you what happened: the ride vehicle has missed the magnet and is off by one sixty-fourth of an inch, causing The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror to stop.
That would have freaked me out.

Knock on wood, this has never happen on any ride at whatever theme park. Hope everything worked out, I'm sure it did.
