Every boyd talks about 6 millions Jews killed in the ww2. How about roughly 30 million Soviet citizens killed in the ww2? Roughly 9 million Soviets perished are military casualties. But how about more 20 million Soviet civilians killed and perished in the ww2?

Nobody gives enough credit to some of the Soviet soldiers who stayed behind; when they arrived and came across the thousands of trapped heavily malnourished prisoners living in those awful conditions, a lot were absolutely shocked and horrified (in fact, these soldiers didn’t even know camps like this existed). Some stayed with the Polish Red Cross to build hospitals, help aid the living and attempt to save the dying. So many of the ex-prisoners hugged, kissed, and cried when they finally got their freedom.

Also it is quite arguable who to blame for Karyn massacre, considering the fact that the first ones to mention it, and blame Soviets, were Nazis who were loosing the war at that moment. (Gebbels). Not to mention how many Soviet soldiers died in Polish prison after the Soviet - Polish war in 1920 (20-30 thousands)
@@SchwartzSky dude’s a dumbass. At the end of the day, lots of people who fought for the Allies (at the battle or simply helping the conflict) were/are heroes, and that includes many Soviets. This liberation being one of the best examples of Soviet soldier heroism!

she told me her dad was in several german wartime camps
and ended up at colditz as head of the escape committee
He said the germans scrounged usical instruments so they could forma band
He said the German people were being starved by blockaded ships
He said the prisoners shared some of their red cross food parcels
he knew one tough german guard had several children
he passed him some food and a bar of chocolate, he said the guard broke down in infront of him and cried
he said there was no cruelty he ever saw
