    Hi,i am an old dude like you and i do a lot of experiments too..i believe the graphite is a great idea..i am soon going to try a dry graphite and see how it goes..i do lube my variators,especially the bushing,then i remove the excess with an absorbent cloth..there is a dry graphite that repells dust..that my be the one,lets see,thanks for your honesty,that puts ahead of most..i have a few things to share with the riding community...i have succeded in many experiments..

    Hi, me again,, i have now got 11:9 g roller weights in my racing variator,, but feel i may need slightly heavier, can you please tell me what weights above 12g are available, thanks again!! I think even a stagger as you have suggested may be helpful as still revving a bit high at slow speed in city centre!

  • @wfrandles
    @wfrandles Před 6 lety

    One thing you might try on your rollers is to stray them with WD-40 then after letting the WD-40 setup on them then wipe the WD-40 off real good with a cloth the WD-40 will leave a thin film on then that will not come off and that's what you want.

    Hi, i have a Kymco agility 125 and have just put on a racing vario with 10.3g weights in it, it revs very high from take off and then seems to change into second gear, when this happens it has a great 10mph to 60mph now but do i need heavier weights or lighter to stop the over revving and lack of response before i hit the right ratio?? Any comments would be helpful, thanks!!

    Do not put any lubes in your variator.period.Clean it up with a rag with a tiny bit of alcohol on it then let it dry before re assembling it.Change the rollers every 5000/6000 miles.Always check your drive belt for wear.

    I tell you this too i took my stock weights out and they had so much belt duest i dont see how they werent acting up. I believe my kycmo agility 125 had graphite from factory cause my roller weights look just like yours after grAPHITE. I dont think graphite is the problem unless you use way to much. thought that it was a good concept but a flat spot will happen regardless i would have to say dr pulley sliders. they dont roll they slide instead, last a long time order two sets and your set. give me a pm alot of aftermarket rollers last about 800 miles and they suck either stock or dr pulley sliders are the way to go my stock rollers are still good with 2000 miles I have a bout 2000 on my slider weights still in very good shape

    • @DIOSpeedDemon
      @DIOSpeedDemon  Před 8 lety +6

      +Bogdan Crisan-Lupa A racing variator is slightly larger in diameter than a stock one. This allows the belt to ride higher on the variator creating a 3-5 mph gain in top speed. That is the simple no Bullshit explanation. I have a dozen of them and I recommend buying and using one of your choice. RH DSD

      DIOSpeedDemon Thank you!!Just another question.This week I will purchase the racing variator,but do I need to buy another belt?Other specifications???And the racing variator helps me when I accelerate?The sprint I mean. Thanks!!!

    • @DIOSpeedDemon
      @DIOSpeedDemon  Před 8 lety +11

      +Bogdan Crisan-Lupa Your question opens up a world of possibilities. Got a Month- I can explain. Variator ramps come in two sizes, 15 and 25 degree angle. This affects how fast the rollers go from idle to wide open position. Doctor pulley like rollers are best. Kevlar belts are best. 1500 rpm stall clutch main spring is the best with heavy duty, v force, double, triple, springs , than stock. DIO belt kits give more torque. Put a 50mm Stroker crank, 98cc stroker piston set up. Phongeer short or long pipe for small bore stroker set up. Custom Boyeson reeds in a CT reed cage. 28mm Mikuni, or Kehin full race carb with polished intake and YOUR SET!!! Don't forget the 50:1 full synthetic race oil, 120 octane orange, Nitro-methanol/supreme mix fuel, aerodyne carb wing, water injection, boost bottle , racing tires and inverted oil transmission cooler. Also the full water cooled 98cc stroker set up that idles at 115 degrees, hits its peak at 265 degrees and fans to run the custom radiator. That is for a start. I have videos on all this and more. Like 2900 videos in all. See what you made me do? RH DSD
