    Great vid. I have flown heavies in XPlane for years now but decided to give FS a go simply because VFR scenery while flying GA aircraft looks so good. Your channel has been just what I needed.

    Hi, I am just learning this week to fly this plane, nice to have shorter essentials checklist, thanks! The AP on this one is definetely different from the ones in most other planes for the sim.

    I’m really enjoying the Black Square line and have gotten comfortable with the Bonanza and Baron but found the King Air a bit challenging. Thanks for helping me learn this fine craft. You are always a great resource and I look forward to your treatment of instrument flying in the King Air.

    Thanks this Marc! Two quick questions - 1. do you keep the condition controls in low idle the whole time (except for right engine during left start)? 2. Are you still planning an IFR video? THX!

    • @FlightSimSchool
      @FlightSimSchool  Před rokem

      Hi Scott, yes, I stay at low idle unless I'm taking off from high altitude or flying at really high altitudes. And yes, I am currently planning an entire series on how to do IFR with the analog planes, it should start coming out some time in July.

      The King Air is indeed a lot to handle when you first get it. Take time to learn the analog Bonanza, and then try the King Air again, I think you’ll find it extremely rewarding. There hasn’t been any updates unfortunately for it neither in over a year.

    Hello. I bought this craft some weeks ago when it was first released and fly it a lot. It’s really good and the pms 50 stack can be added for free if you want the less functional model, otherwise there is a cost. My only slight gripe really, is the positioning of the AP controls and the heading bug can’t be positioned precisely as there is no readout of the heading. That said you can of course position it fairly accurately. I particularly liked the checklists as they help you learn what to do, in what sequence and really helpfully, where the controls are in the plane. Nice tutorial and I picked up a couple of pointers from you. Many thanks.

    • @FlightSimSchool
      @FlightSimSchool  Před rokem +1

      I totally agree with you, the AP controls are in a horrible spot. I’ve gotten around it by mapping a custom camera view to the autopilot panel, but I also considered mapping keys on my controller to the most used functions.

    • @LordRoxy
      @LordRoxy Před rokem +1

      @@FlightSimSchool Sure, I did both of those things and frankly that’s all you can do other than spend some cash on e.g. FloPro. The pay version allows AP buttons to be displayed wherever you launch the dial on screen. But of course not everyone want to spend more money. The camera view, keybind and button mapping on your controls will be the solution for most and works very well given the positioning.

    Maybe a future video for thought. When doing a visual approach and you could select it in a procedures what is the difference between vectors to final or straight in?

    • @FlightSimSchool
      @FlightSimSchool  Před rokem

      Great idea, I could make a short about that (you’d only pick vectors if your flying with atc and they tell you that they’ll vector you to the final approach course)

    • @rackum44
      @rackum44 Před rokem

      @@FlightSimSchool how do you work with ATC on a visual approach I know on IFR you do but on visual MSFS ATC just tells you left or right downwind for a certain runway, there's not an option for vectors for ATC that I'm aware of

    • @FlightSimSchool
      @FlightSimSchool  Před rokem +1

      By ATC, I meant VATSIM. I don't really use the built-in ATC at all. However, I think you would only get Vectors if you were flying in IFR anyways, but I'm not 100% certain.

    The white mark at 222 at 11:27 should be for the Vno speed, Normal Operating Speed: The normal maximum structural cruising speed which should only be exceeded in exceptional circumstances and in smooth air. On other craft it's represented by a Yellow Arc

    • @FlightSimSchool
      @FlightSimSchool  Před rokem

      Thanks Justin, I was confused about that.

    • @JohnVanderbeck
      @JohnVanderbeck Před 11 měsíci

      Actually I think that is just a bug? The manual does say it is the flap extension speed, and in my sim it is indeed at 202. The "never exceed" is the barber pole which adjusts based on altitude.

    Hoping someone can help me here. I've been flying the analog King Air, however, I cannot get the PMS50 GTN 750 to work, while it works fine in the Bonanza. Also, I am unable to get any of the autopilot function lights to show on the pedestal panel.
