Alhamdulilah, a month or two ago, I asked Allah SWT to soften my heart that had become so hard, I couldn't see the result immediately, but day by day, my tears became easier, and I'm inshallah on the way to become a believer who cries for Allah in each remembrance ❤

My heart is very hard, it's like a dry stone wanting to beat again, i feel 2% feeling when i read Quran, I'm scared because there was a time when my emotions overflowed, i spent nights prayering just out of love, i was a child that time i was 12 yrs old, i was the most content human being ever, because i loved Allah, i felt very powerful connection with Allah, i felt presence of Allah every where, i felt the love of Allah everywhere... But then as i hit my puberty, my hormones, my emotions, my desire took a hold of me and then ruined me, it destroyed me completely and i couldn't understand why, I was aware that Allah is testing me, i called out to Him too, but i was in a delusion, now i am at a point that i lost one the most valuable thing in my existence( that's what i was feeling actually) and now i am numbed, i feel nothing, i don't feel that love which i had for Allah, i don't feel overwhealm, i recognize the blessing of Allah upon me, but i feel no love in return, my heart is dead, it wants to revive.. I want to be that little girl again who would rely upon Allah and for whom standing in prayer to please Allah and the pains and soreness of muscle the next day was the joy of life.... Please make dua for me... I want to become a muslim again, i want to become a human again. I want to feel again.. I want to love again.. I want to love my Maker again.. Allah guide me and those eho are lost like me.. Allah guide me and those whose heart is dead and who are searching for you.. Allah please don't leave us to ourself because we will be doomed..

The disconnect I feel is because I don't understand Arabic . I feel so sad that I wasnt gifted Arabic on my tongue. May Allah make it easy for us to have a relationship with Quraan .
you'll get there eventually , i'm a native arabic speaker but i understand how hard it can be to learn it , especially for quran , but it gets easier after a while, just work on yourself and may Allah help you😀
Please read this Wallahi after i listened to this it brought tears to my eyes, especially the part where the Ustad asked about weather or not we are grateful of the Quran and i randomly opened the Quran to establish connections with Allah through it and opened the ayah (وَالَّذِينَ آتَيْنَاهُمُ الْكِتَابَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ ۖ وَمِنَ الْأَحْزَابِ مَنْ يُنْكِرُ بَعْضَهُ ۚ قُلْ إِنَّمَا أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ اللَّهَ وَلَا أُشْرِكَ بِهِ ۚ إِلَيْهِ أَدْعُو وَإِلَيْهِ مَآبِ) [Surat Ar-Ra'd 36] page 254 And it begins (with rough translation) those whom we've sent down the Quran to are happy about what we've sent down to you,.... and I broke down crying. Wallahi if you open the book of Allah He will guide you if only we open our hearts to it. اشهد ان لا الله الي الله و ان محمد رسول الله Ustad Noman and every other person who have helped my Allah grant you janah for you spreading the word of Allahجزاك الله خيرا
When the heart cannot feel anything, means it getting loosing from al Quran. Reangage with the kitabullah to make the heart beat again. When the heart is dying, means the source of oxygen (Al Quran) is far from it. Replant the trees back so that you can rebreath again. Let Allah talk to you. That's the medicine that we really need.

But, part of our journey, I believe, is to overcome tests, all sorts of test - the tests we like such as wealth, and tough ones, such as depression. But we humans like to play, collect and boast. I ask Allah for guidance, for I have no power to benifit or hurt myself, but mashae'Allah.

I know many people (who are Muslim) in my life that are medically depressed or have other mental illnesses and get medicine and treatment for it. It's the same as when you are sick in your body, Allah wants you to take care of your body because it is a gift and blessing from him. Where does your opinion come from? 😁
@ No I was not having fun while writing that. I am pretty aware of the consequences and side effects of depression medicine, but that is true to medicine for many other things. Even if we did find some way to end it, there will always be new diseases that will need cures to be discovered. That is the way life and the world works. Also, The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "There is no disease that Allah has created, except that He also has created its treatment" (Sahih al Bukhari 5678). I know this answer won't satisfy you and that you may not think it's enough, but we simply were not created to live a perfect life without sickness and other "bad" things. Allah said that He will test our faith, and depression is one way to test it. This also gives opportunity for others to do good and study and look for different treatment methods and medicines. It's balanced. We can't live in a world that only has good, that would be impossible. That is only possible in heaven. I hope your heart is truly open to hear my answer.

And when I make dua, I only ask for forgiveness everyday, and it’s sad because I don’t feel that love and connection with allah even though i desperately want that love and feel but I can’t..

I guess I’m not too late.... I used to be close to Allah when I was little I could feel it.Every time I was sad I just felt happy right away cause I felt but never known if it was true or not, but I felt loved knowing Allah was there for me sometimes right next to me,or perhaps in me .i never felt sad .Now I don’t feel anything.
Qalbi Dhaya things did get better, I was just overthinking everything, I tried doing stuff to get closer, and made sure I solat and did everything I could. Just know that Allah would never leave his servants.He is there for us everyday and is always waiting for us to come back. That is why you and I we are still alive.Try reading Quran and think more of akhirat maybe you’ll get to soften your heart more, and don’t ever,ever stop praying and making doa. Allah can make the dead alive and he can make you heart alive again,trust me.

Wow, subhanallah, i just completed reading and listening to the quran yesterday. So i was thinking, how can i explain this to my family, how can i motivate them to read the Quran. So something came up to my mind, i thought... what if i ask them... imagine if we didnt have the Quran.. just imagine for a second. It makes me feel as if its the end of the world. All purpose is suddenly completely lost. What would we be doing without it? No guidance at all? Just imagine...
After this ramadan i really become very distant from everything 🙃.. i don't know where i am heading, i don't know what my hearts wants, i only think of death all the time or try to busy my self on the internet to avoid the feeling of anxiousness ...🙃may Allah makes easy for every believer on this duniya ameen...
Nouman, thank you. [57:16] Is it not time that the hearts of the believers be humbled to the remembrance of Allah and the truth which He has sent down? They should not be like those who were given the Book before this, whose time became very long so that their hearts became hardened. Many of them were impious.
Astagfirullah it's possible that such persons may have a hard heart due to bad things happening to them which do distract them, not only bcos of the first reason being mentioned, it's not easy to get out of a bad situation, may Allah makes things easy for us.

I feel so lost. I never pray and I was a born a Muslim, and I’m Hafiz as well. I tried looking toward my friends but that doesn’t make me happy, honestly nothing does at this point. I feel so bad all the time that I don’t pray, and I can’t even pray juma because of school. I don’t know what to do at this point. I think ima start to pray as much as I can, and go on forward after that.
Escanortheone salam alaikum brother, I just wanted to let you know I was in the same situation as you but don’t fret Allah always has a plan. That sadness you feel means you still have Iman but don’t sit around feeling sad and procrastinating it just gets worse like that. The best thing to do is to act on that sadness you feel, and this can be by starting to pray every salah on time (if you can), leave your environment especially if you hang around with non-muslim friends or just friends who also don’t pray, try to find Muslim friends who practice deen(you can find some at your local masjid or musallah) or just see if your school has a Juma’ah then you can make some muslims friends there, SPEND AS MUCH TIME AS YOU CAN IN THE MASJID( dont just pray then leave, try and stay there for the next salat), make dua Allah to guide and most importantly READ THE QURAN EVERYDAY!!!! I can’t stress this enough reading even just a page helps no matter what. You’re hafiz mashalla, which means Allah chose you personally don’t waste it :). I was there and I sympathize with you.... based on the experience I would suggest changing your friend circle, a lot of time bad parenting.... start slowly from 1 prayer per day then add another and so on... it will take you time but the slow and gradual progression is what works the best. cut down music, tv, etc and slowly replace it with halal tv, sports, etc.
I honestly feel nothing reading Qur'an and only Allah knows how sad i am not able to feel anything. I need guidance. I don't know where to seek it from.
Are you reading it in Arabic and don't understand Arabic maybe. Try reading English version as well and rememember that this book is from Allah. It was sent down...

Salim Javed Surah Taghabun, 41 times after Fajr. Can be recited by family members collectively. Do it for 40 days and keep praying. حسبنا الله ونعم الوكيل
Brother Salim, read surah Yousuf because he has a story similar to yours and is an example for anyone in this situation..he was imprisoned for something he never did, and his story, love of Allah and persistence is beautiful, strengthening and inspirational. He was wronged many times but he always had acceptance and always trusted Allah that He will keep him safe and get him through the difficulties
JAK Ustadh Nouman. 6 years this lecture been posted. Still relevant. This is really sadness for our ummah that we are distancing ourselves from Kitabullah by not pondering over it. We are more focused on just beautiful recitation and that's it. Lots of my friends are very good at recital with perfect tajweed MashAllah. However, they are not bothered to learn the meaning of the Word of Allah as if learning the meaning is not an act of worship. We should recite Quran as much as we could do. But we truly have focus our energy to understand the meaning rather than focusing on arabic 24/7. We have been seeing the tendency of consumerism in our ummah in this holy month of Ramadan Audhubillah. People are focused on the quality of food, dress etc. This happens when the spiritual connection between Allah and servant gets lost. May Allah guide us to the straight path and give us hidayat. Ameen
I feel the same as the person below who does not have Arabic as the native language. It's the hardest thing about being a convert. I always feel like I'm missing something.
Don't worry brother/sister, many Muslims don't speak Arabic. You can learn it and insha'Allah you will learn it. You aren't missing anything, the only thing you were missing is Islam and you have that now. Read Qur'an in your native language translation and make duaa that one day you will learn Arabic.

Thank you Nouman. This is exactly what I needed to watch. I’ve been praying and asking for forgiveness for this whole month by making dua, reading Quran. And when I make dua, I only ask for forgiveness everyday, and it’s sad because I don’t feel that love and connection with allah even though i desperately want that love and feel but I can’t..
I decided to convert to Islam because I feel it in my heart a while back, and your words and teachings has been so amazing!! Now my only wish is one learn Arabic, two move to a Muslim country cause it is really hard in a Hispanic country with no family or friends that are Muslim

Qalbi Dhaya things did get better, I was just overthinking everything, I tried doing stuff to get closer, and made sure I solat and did everything I could. Just know that Allah would never leave his servants.He is there for us everyday and is always waiting for us to come back. That is why you and I we are still alive.Try reading Quran and think more of akhirat maybe you’ll get to soften your heart more, and don’t ever,ever stop praying and making doa. Allah can make the dead alive and he can make you heart alive again,trust me.

Wow, subhanallah, i just completed reading and listening to the quran yesterday. So i was thinking, how can i explain this to my family, how can i motivate them to read the Quran. So something came up to my mind, i thought... what if i ask them... imagine if we didnt have the Quran.. just imagine for a second. It makes me feel as if its the end of the world. All purpose is suddenly completely lost. What would we be doing without it? No guidance at all? Just imagine...
After this ramadan i really become very distant from everything 🙃.. i don't know where i am heading, i don't know what my hearts wants, i only think of death all the time or try to busy my self on the internet to avoid the feeling of anxiousness ...🙃may Allah makes easy for every believer on this duniya ameen...

I feel so lost. I never pray and I was a born a Muslim, and I’m Hafiz as well. I tried looking toward my friends but that doesn’t make me happy, honestly nothing does at this point. I feel so bad all the time that I don’t pray, and I can’t even pray juma because of school. I don’t know what to do at this point. I think ima start to pray as much as I can, and go on forward after that.
Escanortheone salam alaikum brother, I just wanted to let you know I was in the same situation as you but don’t fret Allah always has a plan. That sadness you feel means you still have Iman but don’t sit around feeling sad and procrastinating it just gets worse like that. The best thing to do is to act on that sadness you feel, and this can be by starting to pray every salah on time (if you can), leave your environment especially if you hang around with non-muslim friends or just friends who also don’t pray, try to find Muslim friends who practice deen(you can find some at your local masjid or musallah) or just see if your school has a Juma’ah then you can make some muslims friends there, SPEND AS MUCH TIME AS YOU CAN IN THE MASJID( dont just pray then leave, try and stay there for the next salat), make dua Allah to guide and most importantly READ THE QURAN EVERYDAY!!!! I can’t stress this enough reading even just a page helps no matter what. You’re hafiz mashalla, which means Allah chose you personally don’t waste it :). I hope this helped, may Allah (SWT) bless and guide to the right path.

start small. Every journey begins with one step
I was there and I sympathize with you.... based on the experience I would suggest changing your friend circle, a lot of time bad parenting.... start slowly from 1 prayer per day then add another and so on... it will take you time but the slow and gradual progression is what works the best. cut down music, tv, etc and slowly replace it with halal tv, sports, etc.

JAK Ustadh Nouman. 6 years this lecture been posted. Still relevant. This is really sadness for our ummah that we are distancing ourselves from Kitabullah by not pondering over it. We are more focused on just beautiful recitation and that's it. Lots of my friends are very good at recital with perfect tajweed MashAllah. However, they are not bothered to learn the meaning of the Word of Allah as if learning the meaning is not an act of worship. We should recite Quran as much as we could do. But we truly have focus our energy to understand the meaning rather than focusing on arabic 24/7. We have been seeing the tendency of consumerism in our ummah in this holy month of Ramadan Audhubillah. People are focused on the quality of food, dress etc. This happens when the spiritual connection between Allah and servant gets lost. May Allah guide us to the straight path and give us hidayat. Ameen

I feel the same as the person below who does not have Arabic as the native language. It's the hardest thing about being a convert. I always feel like I'm missing something.
Don't worry brother/sister, many Muslims don't speak Arabic. You can learn it and insha'Allah you will learn it. You aren't missing anything, the only thing you were missing is Islam and you have that now. Read Qur'an in your native language translation and make duaa that one day you will learn Arabic.
