  • Portable fire pit for campers and wild campers
    In this video I share the unboxing, set up and use of a portable fire pit. We then make ourselves a fire to test the product’s claims that it leaves no trace on the ground then get on with toasting crumpets 😍

    It goes great with Halus Bushcraft's Bushcraft grills. Used it multiple times, no defect on the mesh. great project.

    Thank you. Really good review. I bought one of these as an experiment, as I have a small bbq and was concerned that it would burn the grass (the campsite only allowed elevated bbqs because of grass damage). This worked amazingly well. It is sturdy enough to support a small bbq and coals,. and afterwards I used a firelog. Best campfires I have ever had :)

      Thank you and I agree-I’ve used this quite a lot 😊 It’s so easy to take with me and I like the fact it’s elevated-it’s never caused any damage to my camping area 😍👍

      Omg the algorithms picked up on me?? What’s happening? 🤣🤣 But yes I love this camp kit-I used it tonight as I’m camping out in my garden (as you do 🤣). It’s not the best for making food unless you take other accessories but it’s fab for warmth and just feel good factor! And it leaves no trace 😊👍

      Hi Joseph! Thank you 😃 I really like this bit of kit through haven’t been able to use it much yet except in the garden! I just love having a little fire when I’m camping and with this everything is kept off the ground. Hope you’re looking forward to getting out again soon 😊👍

    I've seen a few of these now and this one looks good and lightweight. You could cook over it by using a fire anchor (check out TJM metalworks for them) that you just stick in the ground and can swivel in and out of the fire. Nice video, you're a natural 🙂

    • @karenguttridge

      @@karenguttridge Plus, those fire anchors take up little room in a bag, it's literally three poles and you can get a little grill with it and you'd have the perfect crumpets. Last for ever those fire anchors. (no, I don't work for them, ha) I think they're just genius and for the money, excellent value, given they'll last a lifetime. Happy camping!

      @@Mysteryman93 I’ve just checked the website and they do so many different sizes-what size fire anchor did you buy?

    • @Mysteryman93
      @Mysteryman93 Před 3 lety

      @@karenguttridge I've not bought it yet, I saw another video of someone using one and I thought, I'm getting one of those! but then covid happened so my trip to Scotland was cancelled (I live in Barcelona) so decided to wait until I can travel. it's the one that sticks in the ground, with two anchors that swing over the fire. I assumed it was was size, but perhaps they have more now? I guess as long as it's higher than your fire pit, then it'll work. I also got thinking, you can also buy the tripods that have a hanging chain for pots etc, I guess one of those would work over the fire pit too. Endless options! 🙂🙂🙂

    Hello Kaz, very good idea for camping on the trail, safer than starting a fire on the ground. May I ask, what is a crumpet??

    • @karenguttridge
      @karenguttridge  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Sylvia-Ooo how to describe a crumpet?? I think the closest thing in US would probably be an English muffin, though a crumpet is made from a batter like pancakes and has a chewier texture. I guess that doesn’t sound so nice but they’re delicious with butter!
