    All you have to do is soak it in warm water and it will fit together nicely. and you can drill out under his feet and he'll come right off his base. Nice paint job.

    The black primer on the coins looked like charcoal! Very cool effect 👍 I will remember that.
    The mouth at the end looked like you put an LED bulb inside the dragon. So very bright!
    Well done on this dragon.
    With all those issues with the paint separation the effects were out of this world.

    Great video and descriptions.
    I also had a bit of an issue getting the wings to fit in the slot. I ended up just wiggling it and eventually got the right angle for it to slide in.

      I hadn't either. The guys in the FLGS just play with it unpainted..."but that's not how we do things here" ;)

    Yeah, I struggle getting past the ugly faze sometimes too. You just have to muscle through and realize that it's gonna look better. You're not finished yet.

    The problem you had painting the dragon was not the release agent. you had to much water or medium in the paint, this is causing it to act as a wash. if it was the release agent the primer would either peel off or wouldn’t dry. Often this happens if you have to much water in the sponge on your wet pallet, or you haven’t Shaken the pint very well, so the medium and pigment in the paint is separated causing the colour to separate on the model.

    • @GMAtank
      @GMAtank  Před rokem +4

      It's strange because I paint the same way all the time with shaking paint, wet pallet usage and Games Workshops paints consistently. But you may be right! thanks for commenting.

      @@GMAtankSometimes if the undercoat is too heavy it becomes a little bit glossy and that in itself will stop the paint from adhering. Fantastic paint job nonthstheless.

    Just put the wing pegs/notches in some boiling water and they slot right in. No need to chop the mini or your fingers up.

    • @GMAtank
      @GMAtank  Před rokem +1

      I have a love/love/hate/confuse? relationship with my airbrush.
      I love when it works, and I love the results, but I hate when it gums up, and I get confused sometimes when it's GETTING gummed up and blast a big snot shot of paint on my detail work.
      Oh well! Try and learn! :) thanks for commenting!

    Could have avoided cutting yourself and all the extra work trimming the wings before assembly by just using some hot boiling water. Let the wings sit in the hot water for about a minute and then assemble them, they fit and lock in perfectly when the plastic is softened by the hot water, no cutting or trimming necessary.

    • @GMAtank
      @GMAtank  Před rokem +2

      I never considered boiling the wing, just due to how hard/thick the plastic was! I do that trick typically with the smaller mini's from Bones or even Nolzur's, but good to know all the same! Thanks for watching.
