I live in SE Fla and homeowners taxes keep escalating out of control, skyrocketing every year, making it almost impossible to stay in my home. This is why I am considering a move to Georgia or South Carolina. It is so sad that insurance companies are doing this, since many elderly people like myself are being priced out of the home we love, in the neighborhood, where we have developed friendships with our neighbors.
The town I live in, Aiken, is experiencing such an influx that those of us who have lived here most of our lives are moving out because the crime, traffic and in some cases people are being priced out of their neighborhoods. People who move here from big cities sell their 2br/1ba condo for $1M and come down here to live like royalty but then get ticked when the reality of a small town life hits them and theyâre showing their butts at the grocery store because they canât find their wheat grass blessed by the Dali Lama. It was a lovely cosmopolitan horse town but now its loud and congested. Itâs just sad to see the changes and not all for the good. Iâm all for progress but not like this.
The wheat grass will come when WFM moves in. đ
Same for the Woodruff area. It has changed so much in the last two years. Traffic has gotten crazy. Too many cars for our roads. We drive and pick up grandson from school daily and its getting to be a headache. We moved here for the quiet, small town feel which we quickly see disappearing.

Same song all over the Upstate. Itâs full of Bennieâs just destroying anything decent. I was so thankful to sell to some guy from Detroit. Let him come and screw the place some more.
I've been living in Los Angeles for decades. Since living on the surface of the sun is better than Los Angeles, South Carolina sounds like a dream.
Itâs a shithole like LA
Good video. I always enjoy them. But I would like to mention a couple of things.
I donât think Iâve ever heard you refer to the two fastest growing regions of SC: Charlotteâs SC suburbs (York and Lancaster Counties) and the Conway/Myrtle Beach areas (Horry County). Thatâs really surprising itâs never mentioned.
The Buying Power (income vs. cost of living) averages about 15%-20% better than the national average, depending on where in SC you live. Though the salaries are a little lower, the cost of living more than makes up for it. One can actually live better on less, generally speaking.
Again, great videos. Thanks for posting.
Great video! Want to go up there.
Perfect!!!
Canât be higher than CT.?
Love Charleston/Myrtle Beach Areas of SC. Do not like the lower Health Care stats for Seniors above 65 years old (hospitals/doctors/heath care/extended care) for all of my senior friends moving there! Tough if you have major medical, and need to be moved to the triangle in Raleigh/Durham NC! I do not see enough about the medical venues in SC where ever you are living! I really want to see how close a level 3, and level 2, and level 1 trauma center hospital would be available to me if I moved to South Carolina!
There are 5 Level 1 Adult Trauma centers in South Carolina. They are located in Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Greenville, Columbia and Spartanburg

I like it , lower property taxes mean lower rents.
The value of my house in Clover has doubled since 2019. My property taxes are a little over $1400
My taxes this year was over $1500 in SC
That's a dream!!! Taxes where I'm at is over $8,000 per year! South Carolina is definitely winning!!!
but the politicians are skimming off of the treasuries and the educational system suffers the teachers are not being paid for example Captain Kimberly library director makes $87,000 a year which is comparable to a Ford employee with the union and all the health care she is rich in this area your teachers might make 42-43,000 a year which is ludicrous
You have to pay taxes in your car every year?! How much is that in average?
The place sucks donât come
What about the bugs thatâs all I hear about any thoughts ??
Thanks
I live in the upstate. I don't find the bugs to be a huge issue at all. We do have mosquitoes as most places do. Need in the spring which aren't a nuisance. Very few cockroaches or water bugs in my area. Our family enjoy it here.
@@tiazadobbs7475what area are you in ? How long have you lived there ?
Itâs about the poorest state in the nation ?
Weâre actually the 10th poorest state
Much of this is accurate, however the auto insurance rate is well ABOVE national average in SC and GA
Big time
Itâs a horrible place.
@@davzmail itâs far from horrible. I got a great deal here I live like a king compared to what I lived like in Georgia.
