      So I did research for the past 15 minutes and I think that you can then apply at any university in Germany. However only for subject-related programs :)

    Hi Markus, thank you the thorough information. I am an international student. I was wondering if I should enter the german equivalent of GPA or the original one, when filling in the qualifying academic background?

      Hey! Sorry for the late reply. That's a tough question honestly and I know that I struggled with exactly that. I had put in my German grade, but I would assume that they would accept both. If you type the German one there would be a "," instead of a "." in between the numbers, so maybe they can thereby identify it. But honestly I don't want to give recommendations as I am unsure myself.

      Hm I don't know about that. But if it is one program with different focus points you usually choose the focus point once you are enrolled

      => English language skills verification is carried out as part of the aptitude assessment. An English language certificate is not required for the application.

      That totally depends on the program you want to attend. There are some where you don't need to speak any German :)

      this is not easy to say. This does not depend on your english skills level and also not on your GPA, but rather it's a calculation of subject-specific requirements and maybe the essay if you don't get accepted in the first stage.

      Hey! That depends on your grades, typically there is not just one average considered, but a weighted average of different subjects. If you go to the management & technology website and click on "how are applicants selected" and thenn "aptitude test" you will find a detailed description of how exactly the grades are considered and how many points you need for direct admission or to get in the second stage :)

    Having a master degree in a university of applied sciences in Germany, does it help give you a leg up to get admitted in TUM for another masters degree in a similar course of study?

      Hey! :) I honestly don't know about the difficulty to apply, same goes for the job situation, I'm also just a student :D But in general I would say you can always find a job after graduating :)

    Again I heard about the gape year concept, can you say something about it.
    And lastly, I don't have any co-curricular activities. Is it an issue?

      for most programs extracurricular activities are not necessary :)
      If you meet the requirements you'll get accepted. :)

      Hey :) for Mechanical and civil Engineering you need to speak German. For aerospace english is sufficient :)

What are my chances in getting into TUM

      Hey! From the degrees I know the chances mostly depend on the grades. But your chances differ from degree to degree. You can look up the different programs and in most of them you will find something like "how are applicants selected" and there will be additional documents stating how you will be evaluated and whether there is the chance for an interview. Some programs have unrestricted admission so you can get in those.

    quick question. For those applying for a masters program but have their bachelor's degree from china or India, Is the APS certificate required when applying or is it required for enrollment?

      So if I understand it correctly, you have to uploaf the APS to uni-assist for your preliminary documentation. So I would say you need it for the online-application. But I am not an expert, so maybe contact the TUM :)

    How long does it take for TUM to contact me to (not) except my admission? I applied for engineering science a week ago, I am german and had a 1,7 abitur. How high are the chances roughly of getting excepted?

    You explained about TUM online website for application. But many courses require application from Uniassist. It would have been better how to apply through uniassist website, or how for few courses both uniassist and TUM online website application are required.

      On the website of your program :) just google the program and then it should be there in the gray box saying "key data" or in the section "application and admission" :)

      Hey :) I would suggest you to go for public. The public health care system is very good in Germany and less expensive. Most people have public :)

      hey! :) if you had an intermediate exam fill it out, but if you did not have a intermediate exam just leave it empty :)
      final examination: put in the grade of your final examination of your bachelors.

      The equivalent to SE would be "Informatics"

      As far as I know you have to be able to prove your language skills when applying online. Only in some cases it is possible to test english during the aptitude assessment.

      Das einzige was ich weiß ist das Dokument, dass du auf der Website vom BSc Informatik unter "Wie werden die Studierenden ausgewählt?" findest. Dann auf "Satzung über das Eignungsfeststellungsverfahren" klicken und unter Paragraph 6 findest du die Beschreibung...
      Auf meinem Discord kannst du dich evtl. mit anderen austauschen, die in ner ähnlichen Lage sind :)

      My guess would be that if you have a university entrance Qualification it is the general one. I guess subject specific might be if you for example did Studienkolleg... but maybe you can ask people on the discord whether they know more

      maybe the application for Bachelors programs is not open, it should typically show all programs that are available to apply for currently :)

      If you have very similar classes you can get credits for them when you start studying here, but you will probably not be able to simply be in the 5th semester here :)

    Hello markus i received the vpd know and i send it to the university via email for studim@ since my application deadline has passed and i didnt received the vpd within the deadline after i connet to university they tell me to do that send it by email my question is how much time it need to take an answer from university?and is there still a chance to be accepted 😢?

      that depends on the program, if the language of instruction is German then you need it.
      But there are some Bachelors programs and many masters programs that don't require German Language skills. :) Hope this was helpful

      Check the website of the student union :) they offer several dorms. Apply as early as possible, because there are typically waiting times of up to two years to get a spot

      For every program you have to apply through TUM Online and therefore check the documents you need on the website of the program :)

Now should i electronically submit the application , if not they might not consider my application, and if i do will i be able to change the placeholder once i get the vpd.       As far as I know you don't need it as long as your language of instruction was at least 50 % English :)

      that depends on the program and the country you did your last education in :)
      General rule of thumb: yes, if you have not done your last education within the EU

      I did not have a letter of recommendation. Neither for my Bachelors application nor for my Masters application :)
      If it was not required in the application it is not beedee ;)

      There are several types :)
      TUM will offer some in the future in regards to tuition fees.
      Aside from that the most common ones are either the "Deutschlandstipendium", DAAD, and some others.
      You can have a look into scholarship databases like mystipendium.de :) there you'll have many scholarships and you can filter tham according to your background.
