    I recommend investing a little time to make some tools to take advantage of the hardy hole in your anvil. The effort should pay for itself quickly by saving time, improving work efficiency, as well as reducing wear and tear on the anvil edges and your joints, both.
    Keep it up ! 😁

      A cutting die (with an oil hardened edge) will cut faster and save wear on your anvil's working edges ... just one example.

    You should get some Borax washing soda to use as a flux for welding the looped end back onto the axe face.

      mrMacGoover judging from how cold they work the steel I really don't think that they care about the quality.

      @@matthewtomes9396 these are sold very cheap, used by daily labourers. Used very roughly. 2-3USD is the selling price.

    How is that a 'Viking' axe?

    • @theEikern123
      @theEikern123 Před 5 lety

      if you go on ebay and look for '' viking axe '' and look at the place of origin, its mostly eastern europe for the expensive hq ones and india for the rather cheap ones

    • @badpossum440
      @badpossum440 Před 5 lety

      @@theEikern123 there is no such thing as a 'Viking ' axe . Viking is a job description not a tribal name. Yes Norse Viking raiders used axes , so did a lot of people & most used the same style of fighting axe.

      @HappyandAtheist that is true, the reasoin was because in scandinavia we didnt have so much large chunks of steel or iron, there were only flat pieces, so we had to forge weld them together to form an axe, and we used edge steel only on the edge to minimize the cost

    • @zahnir
      @zahnir Před 4 lety +1

      Wulfbert sword steel's origin was here.

      Karl kruger Maybe its an ethnic Indian viking type of axe. Indian vikings may have used these axes in the early years. Who says the viking he is referring to came from Scandinavia. They may have come from Mumbai.
