Imagine watching this on a weekly basis. Every friday internet went crazy with theories of what was really happening. It was an awesome experience. For me this is still the best Marvel show to this day. It´s truly unique.
That must have been so fun!
Its was the first MCU release, that i got to watch as it was coming out, after officially getting into the MCU.
Definitely made an impact… and needless to say, is still my favorite MCU release😊

@@F0CKSTR0T I actually watched WandaVision right after I finished phase 3. I've been putting the MCU TV show reactions up as full reaction on my Patreon. I was going to keep this a movie channel, but I've had so many people asking for my WandaVision reaction that I decided to turn them into an edited reaction.

@@reactswithjax Oh, really? Glad You changed Your mind, and I hope this goes for all the MCU series, because they're as much important to the MCU as the movies are imo. And except for "Loki" and "What If", they all have just one season with 6-9 episodes each, so they're almost just like longer movies, if that makes any sense^^
Episode 1 Fun Fact: That wasn't a laugh track, the production team invited a few friends and family to the filming so they could actually be "Filmed before a live audience".
The only part that wasn't filmed in front of the audience was the part with Mr. Hart choking, as that got a bit spoilery for the scenario they were presenting.
Apparently, Teyonah Parris ("Geraldine") was in the audience for episode 1.
That is so cool! I love that!
You'll love these series.
It's a bit of Column A and a bit of Column B. It was filmed before a live audience (mainly so they can put the label on it that says so) but there's also an added laughtrack.
Delighted with how confused you are, that's exactly how we all felt when it first aired weekly. Having to wait til the next week to get another piece of the puzzle was so frustrating! Love how perceptive and insightful your observations are!

Ya i loved all the crazy theories each week u think this and the first season of Loki was Soo much fun because of the hype around themand the theorys people came up with each week but even in a rewatch i think Wandavision was just so fun and unique

Since I was born in the 70s I've lived through the decades and seen the TV and I'm telling you on episodes 3 and 5 they absolutely nailed the theme tunes, the fact that I get goose bumps from them cause they remind me of those days is amazing. Kudos to the writers, you went above and beyond.
This is my favorite mcu project. I was born in the 80s and theses shows I live through or reruns aired.
Black Widow was originally supposed to start off Phase 4, but when the country/world shut down due to the pandemic they shuffled plans around and released WandaVision first (and the world of streaming is now as we know it). What a creative show! And gosh darn heartbreaking.
I love that we get to start Phase 4 with WandaVision. I've never seen anything quite like this show. I'm really enjoying it!

I loved how the show only slowly reveals what’s actually going on.
I loved how, during the watch ad, you focused on the ticking while missing the Hydra name and logo front and center

They put so many great clues in this show!
Each episode covers a different decade of television programming. The first being the 50's which is why that episode was black & white. The second was the 60's when television transitioned to color. The third representing the 70's. 😂
That's so creative! I really like seeing these characters being represented throughout the different decades of television.
WandaVision is different from other Marvel shows or movies. But it isn't random or arbitrary. It is all part of the story arc.
It was released one episode per week so people had time to theory craft just what in the tarnation was going on...lol 🤣
The good news is that questions will be answered. The bad news is that this will lead to more questions...he he he
All in all I would say the show was quite clever in its delivery. Keep your eyes peeled because we do have some important cameos coming up. 😮
As someone who grew up in the 80s and 90s, and watched a TON of old shows going all the way back to the 50s on Nickelodeon (Nick at Night), I absolutely loved the approach to this series, with every episode basically being a different decade's style. They damn near nail the aesthetic of all of them, lol. This was a great start (along with Loki) to the MCU entering the "show/miniseries" format.
I used to love Nick at Night! I agree that this is a fantastic way to kick off the MCU shows. It's throwing me for a bit of a loop, but it's great!
This whole series pulls from a few of the comics for inspiration. The Visions for example a 12 issue limited series showcases Vision attempting to life a normal domestic life in the D.C Suburbs, creating synthezoid versions of a new wife and children. You can see the inspiration right away with how Wanda and Vision are trying to life a normal domestic life in this show.
The series also pulls from Avengers: Disassembled a comic that saw Wanda lose control of her powers and try to destroy the Avengers. In the end the Avengers disassembling and two years later the whole Marvel Civil War would take place in the comics. This kind of reflects back to Endgame and how for the most part The Avengers are disassembled in a way with the death of Tony and retirement of Captain America.
And finally The House Of M storyline one of the biggest inspiration for this show and building off from what happened in Avengers: Disassembled. Here Wanda goes mad with grief and changes reality so her children exist again. Pretty much changing history where Mutants pretty much won over Humanity with Magneto creating a Mutant Utopian alongside Wanda, Pietro, and her children. Whole storyline is really amazing and the idea of Wanda warping the town of Westview to her liking is highly paralleled with the House of M storyline.
They even did spin off comics focusing on other characters like Spider-Man showcasing what his history would've been like in this reality. There's also a really cool Iron Man one as well and for a while this was just the mainline Marvel timeline until everything was changed back to normal.

There was a subtle thing that happened at the dinner in episode one. When Mrs. Hart was repeating "Stop it" she was first facing her husband, but when the camera pulls in tighter on her face she slightly shifts her body angle towards Wanda and repeating "Stop it" with a strained and panicked smile on her face.
She breathed a sigh of relief once Vision saved him, then carried on as if nothing happened.
Notice how Mr. Hart started choking as soon as his questions overwhelm her.
In episode 3 when Wanda started singing to her kids after telling Geraldine about being a twin...Wanda was distracted. At that moment, watch Geraldine's face. She looks like she was just coming back from some type of trance...and then remembered about Pietro.
So...there is definitely some Twilight Zone ( the show was also in Black & White when it first aired.) elements to these episodes.

This series is WILD, I love the different areas of shows that they progress through, and if you pay close attention those era jumps are due to in "show" reasons. Asking why they don't have kids, jump from 50s to 60s, having the kids jump from 60s to 70s, each jump is due to pressures on wanda inside the show. It's really well written. Those ads having stark, hydra, strucker etc. which are all villains from wanda's past, it really makes you wonder what's going on. Then the interuption asking who's doing it to wanda breaks through the illusion on the VEIWER and reminds them that this shouldn't be happening, it's not a dream or a moment from the snap, it's current and people are trying to contact wanda. So many aspects to this show that keep you guessing, really amazing work.
Such an amazing show, with so many twists and turns.
From the beginning pay attention to smallest details, will be fun watching you try to figure things out.
There are so many clues I missed and I feel like my detective skills are really being tested in this show!
If you don't get what the commercials mean by the end I'll say what i think they mean but I also like that you caught the other details of crumbs and pointed them out so i think you're collecting the Easter eggs well enough. It was fun to see your mind go on this rollercoaster of what is real and what does it mean and basically what most people probably felt, (overwhelmed) with information.
This show is such a rollercoaster! It's fun though. I need to get better at finding the Easter eggs! 😅
Love this reaction. The best show Marvel has done, by far, in my opinion. Hearing her ask all the questions that we ALL had was funny. And the weekly release was brilliant and brought back a lot of conversations between episodes unlike the common full season drop we see these days.

Wandavision is the best show in the MCU... the acting from Elizabeth Olsen is amazing... everyone is confused in the beginning, but the payoff of realizing what is happening is genius ... comedic, romantic, suspense, thriller, action, show that leaves you an emotional train wreck... i loved it
The commercials represent wandas memory of events that happen in her life. Toaster had stark name , second one was strucker from hydra who experimented on wanda and pietro and the 3rd one was hydra soak which represented hydra
I’m glad in post editing you picked up on what the “ads” were laying down. Also the Toaster makes the iconic “repuslor” sound of Iron Mans repulsor blasts.
Every week was a new theory. 2 months of this was soooo much fun.
After watching 7, I never want to know what’s in the Box. Hahaha😂😂😂😂
Waiting a week between these episodes was crazy. The amount of time people had to come up with all theories. It was an amazing few weeks of TV :)

I can't believe I missed the Strucker clue...and thought the villain was toast! 😅
One of the things I liked the most about this series (and I can safely mention it since you've seen all 9 episodes) is that each 3 episodes was 1 act of the show
Episodes 1-3 all showed a great mystery that the audience knew nothing about
Episodes 4-6 were the reveal episodes, each one shining a light on stuff and making everything more clear
And finally episodes 7-9 were the conflict and climax of the show with all the stakes, battle, and ending
I really liked the way it was neatly divided it was one of my favorite details of the show!
That little symbol on Geraldine's necklace was for SWORD, and you saw it on the helicopter, and on the book that the person at the end of E1 and/or E2 was closing.

Enjoy. The entire series is in part one giant whodunit. Yes, it came out weekly, and we all went nuts analyzing every little clue. Hint: they love to mess with your head in this series. There are false clues scattered among the genuine ones, and you can't tell them apart!
It was fun watching Paul Bettany play a drunk Vision, compared to his usual calm demeanor. Have you ever seen A Knight's Tale? He plays a rather broad version of Geoffrey Chaucer.
... People have trouble differentiating between those snapped away, and those who died a real death. The latter include Gamora, Natasha, and Vision. He was killed by Thanos before the Snap, so another Snap won't bring him back.
Looking forward to your reaction to 4-6.
Paul Bettany played a wonderful drunk Vision! I haven't seen A Knight's Tale. I've been wanting to see that.
I liked this show a lot. I think it lags a bit anywhere it lacks it just makes up for in overall sheer entertainment value. There is just so much interesting eye candy happening all the time in it to keep me captivated.
There is so much interesting eye candy! That's a great way to describe these episodes. The costumes and sets are really fun.
This is going to be such a fun reaction for us to watch! Given your propensity for figuring out plot points and dialogue, there’s so many twists and turns and mysteries to play around with in this show, watching this with you is going to be a delight! When this first aired, it set the internet on fire with people trying to figure out what the heck was going on and there were as many theories as there were fans. It was sweet agony having to wait a week for each episode, hoping for answers to all our questions and each answer we got only raised more questions. Reminded me so much of back when I was a kid and how TV shows were destination events you planned your week around. It’s Wednesday night? Make sure you’re home in time to catch the next episode of (insert show here)!

Dear Jax, don't worry: NO ONE knew what was going on during the first couple of episodes, or longer. But all with be made clear, in a crazy and unique way. You actually had some really insightful comments in the first few minutes of the first episode, whether you knew it or not. 😁
This is my favorite MCU TV show - incredibly creative and layered. I grew up on those early sitcoms, so this show was a blast from the past for me. Episodes 8 and 9 will blow your socks off! (Have tissues ready....)

Brilliantly put together, one of my favourite Marvel series this one. Each episode starts off like a comedy but with a couple of things in each that are darker, don't make any sense, but come together beautifully in episode..... Well that's enough from me don't want to spoil it for you

There are a few great MCU series to come, but WandaVision is, in my not-so-humble opinion, the best of them all (so far). So cool to get more Marvel Fridays with Jax. 👍☮❤
Oh this is going to be one helluva ride!
Hey, Jacqueline! You would have been better served seeing "Loki" Seasons 1 and 2 first to set up all of Phase 4 and the X-Men films to prep for references in "WandaVision"! I really enjoyed "WandaVision" and thought it was the best of the DPlus TV shows. It works as both a sitcom and a dark "Twilight Zone"/"Black Mirror" episode.
EPISODE 1:
The sitcom being parodied was "The Dick van Dyke Show". Dick van Dyke himself consulted on the set design and gags like tripping over the ottoman. He also played the ukelele like Bettany does to entertain his guests. The program aired in the early '60's but had the sensibility of a '50's sitcom.
This episode was the only one filmed before a live studio audience!
Casting Debra Jo Rupp, who played Kitty on "That '70's Show", was a nice touch! She was begging Wanda through a forced smile to save Arthur!
The blinking red light on the Stark Industries toaster was the only spot of color.
The logo on the journal and the monitor to the left of the TV is for the S.W.O.R.D. Agency. SWORD is SHIELD's space division monitoring extraterrestrial threats. The acronym means Sentient Worlds Observation and Response Department in the comics.
The comic story being adapted here is "The Vision and the Scarlet Witch" suburban domesticity series. In the mini-series, the duo take a sabbatical from the Avengers and live as a suburban couple.
EPISODE 2:
The sitcom being parodied is "Bewitched". They even ape the animated intro! It was a black-and-white '60's sitcom that was colorized partway through its run which is what happens in this transitional episode. Standards and Practices forbade a wedded couple from being depicted sharing the same bed. It was considered scandalous! Lucille Ball bucked the trend on "I Love Lucy" by pushing two double beds together but a single bed scenario wasn't shown until "The Brady Bunch"!
Notice the Baron Strucker watch. He was the monocle-wearing head of Hydra in "Age of Ultron".

Vision is accurately referred to as a SYNTHEZOID since he has both inorganic electronic and mechanical components as well as synthetic organic components! Doctor Cho's synthetic skin was one such component shown in "Age of Ultron".
Second Hydra reference in a commercial and this one directly related to "Agents of SHIELD"!
Agnes sure didn't like not being the primary stage manager in Wanda's affairs. Fear over Wanda losing control or frustrated at not being able to direct a desired outcome?
Glitching Wanda was like a scene from "Poltergeist"! Loved her breaking water deluge!
Why was the stork impervious to her hexes? The harbinger of the twins outclassed Wanda's power or just more glitching?
Tommy Shepherd aka SPEED and Billy Kaplan aka WICCAN have been born!
Mentioning Pietro brings the Sokovian lilt to Wanda's voice! Could there be an Aaron Taylor-Johnson cameo in the works?
Geraldine's pendant is the SWORD logo. She's an agent. She gets too close to the truth and is hurled out of Wanda's Westview bubble into the SWORD encampment!
