You really have to pay close attention to his tone and facial expression: disdain and contempt when she isn't looking, condescending mixed with subtle contempt and appeasing tone. Go back and watch his facial expression as she turns to leave; he's put off, and then quickly schools his features when she stops to ask about him accompanying her to parenting class. She then mentions Portia's name of being the one to suggest it. It's possible at some point the wheels began to turn. Why would Portia, who just railed against him not making enough time for Trina, sign him up for this class? Did she not tell me to enjoy my youth? Now, notice the time jump. We don't see nor here of what happened from that point on. It's as if Spencer and Trina have already talked about it, because the next time they see each other(as far as we know) is the day of his parenting class; same day Curtis is shot. Then we see Spencer allowing Esme to touch his shoulder, Joss shows up and he's very casual in his demeanor towards, Joss despite her assumptions of "something going on" Normally we would see Spencer reactionary, but here, he isn't. Remember how upset he was that night at the High-Sider Bar with Joss knowing his business, and her opening her mouth? We have no idea what transpired between that time with, him, Trina, or Joss, or quite possibly, Dex(I wouldn't bank on it with him, but who knows. There is another time jump from the first time Sprina reunites for the first at the hospital and the next is with Portia confronting Spencer. It's obvious no one has seen him since the last time he was there; something we're clued into by Portia. Let's move to the conversation between Spencer and Trina. So they both agree that whatever happens going forward they're in this together. Notice the small exchange of secretive smiles between those two. I almost want to say that was all NAC and TAB there😂 With that said, in my opinion the way Spencer stood firm in how he believes he and Trina make each other feel regardless of what Portia and others think is very telling. And it's the way in which he says it. He's listening to Portia, he's taking everything in, but he's watching her at the same time. Other than Portia doing what she does best: lie, overdramatize, manipulate, triangulate, and cry fake tears, she all but gave herself away in how much she hates Spencer. And I think he really understood just how much she does in that moment. Even though she shook his confidence a bit, him talking to Trina was the best thing for both. Despite what she did they're still together. Let's move on to last Friday where we have another time jump because once again, we're finding out these two haven't seen much of each other if any. Prior to Trina showing up we have an Esme whose eager to go to the park. Spencer suggests going to the pool in a very condescending tone, facial expression matching as well, and then a knock at the door and it's Trina. They haven't seen one another in a few days. She's distraught over the two habitual liars aka Portia and Curtis when Spencer suggests she stay away from him. Although, she is against this, she complies rather easily. They both agree to keep their relationship low key. I don't buy for a second that this is Spencer and Trina or whatever we suspect may have to do with Esme, that they both agree that she's truly changed. Something stinks.🤔

Trina and Spencer work so good together, it could be that they have come up with a clad tight plan together to prove that Esme never lost her memory. Just like Trina told Spencer that the new Esme is twice as dangerous without her memories as,much as the old one with her memories.
