  • Largs by train.
This journey takes us from Paisley Gilmour Street station to Largs. The trip has been condensed as it normally takes about 50 minutes. Once in Largs, we take a walk down to the water's edge, then through some of the back streets, stopping off to walk through the remains of a churchyard and cemetery dating back to 1636. What remains now seems to be slowly slipping into disrepair, with some tombstones being secured to prevent them from falling.
You can learn more about the rich history of Largs here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Largs
Largs as usual was windy, but did stay dry, there is some wind noise in some areas, but it doesn’t last long. I forgot to switch over to the external microphone! (Schoolboy error). The seagull sounds when walking along the front were added to prevent copyright strikes from the music playing at the kid’s funfair.

The Scottish rail network is so very much better than the dirty, unreliable, expensive and goes nowhere service we have in East Anglia!!

I hear people complain regularly about the English services. I also hear people complain about the Scottish network here as well, I commute every day by train in Scotland and find the service very reliable. Most of the trains are pretty new and in good condition as well. Thanks for watching!

Yes, I lived in Scotland for seven years and it was often far easier to use the train than a car. EG Stansted airport 20 miles by car, 140 by train and 4 changes!!!@@martinofscotland
