- This is how to complete Hugo's questline in Dragon's Dogma 2. This features the quests Mercy Among Thieves and Off The Pilfered Path quests and requires the completion of the Tolled to Rest Quest. The rewards include the Infernal Edge Duospear for Mystick Spearhand class and the Frosted Edges daggers for the Thief class, a Ferrystone, and a ton of gold and XP.

There are a girl at Rose Chateau complain that the place feel unsafe after Wilhelmina left and need a new guard so I think he work there as a guard

Also make sure you have the battahl residence permit first before entering the jail because the guards will attack you if you don't have that.
Wtf is the battal resident permit? This quest is pissing me off.

@@iAMNinjaDarkovia just play the main quest Nation of lambent Flame in Battahl and a character will give you one.
@@iAMNinjaDarkovia First main quest when you get to battal, the person gives you one right away when you meet them in the tavern.
at 1:55 there is a chest right there with Frosted Edges daggers

i actually found the frosted edges in a chest at the bandit camp we raided. i guess you can get them whether you get the good ending or not

Actually, this is not a good ending because Hugo kills the Brefft to escape from prison. However, in the scenario where I did this task, I found a job for Hugo, Hugo did not kill anyone, and Lanzo is alive somewhere (maybe there will be different missions with Lanzo in the future, who knows). But now I'm after Lanzo, I have a reason to find and kill her, and after I do this, I will report it to Hugo.
I killed lanzo before Hugo arrived to the old battlefield and I didn't know the location to get Hugo a job so I talked to the oracle and she told me to revive befft( the guy Hugo killed in prison before he escaped) and I spent hours looking for his body to revive him and didn't find it , then I went to the battahl morgue and didn't find brefft there neither so I revived lanzo instead and then a few minutes after that the guard Benjamin told me lanzo fight to death with Hugo and finished the quest, this quest is bugged af
whenever i speak to Lyssandro all he says is "see someone you like?" so do i have to progress through the story or something?

those bandits that promp the use of a wake stone are they in some other quest or something I find it weird that it would say that unless their needed for something

The quest line can only be triggered if your main story progression has unlocked the border gate.

There is a Frosted Edge in the Chest near the cutscene where Lanzo Betray Hugo
I got dragon plague in bakbatthal inn before meeting Hugo in jail. After wakes all of the people using eternal wakestone. Hugo already outside the jail. I think I didn't have the chance to fight Lanzo. But still i can offer him a job.
literally same man's just standing around at my house in bakbatthal but I've done nether work quest yet
i talked with hugo than i rested in my house when i came back there was no hugo and there was no dietrich that is gonna tell that he escaped can somoene help me
I can’t get Hugo arrested to set off the jail quest! The guards won’t arrest him! Can someone help me? What am I missing?
You can also talk to Toumi before you speak to Alesandro. I know because this is the first time I learned Alexandro exists haha.
Cutscene doesn't play Hugo, is immortal, and proceeds to attack me. Killed everyone there except Hugo. But dude keeps attacking. Eff it imma just finish the playthrough and ignore this mission.

So i started the tolled to rest quest early on in my playthrough, But didnt finish it. Now i've come back to it and cant find Oskar anywhere? I went to multiple different Morgue's, And he dosent seem to be dead. So i'm very lost, confused and frustrated, Because i've been spending and using so many resources just to try and complete this questline
Never mind. Found his course in the ancient battleground. sigh.
I've done tolled to rest and Breft isn't there
İ messed this quest a lot. İ had copy of unbreakable Kay from black guard in human city so i let go Hugo by my key kill all the guards and i give fake book to shop owner so he waiting in front of my house for guide like eternity 😅
No one told me Hugo escaped...
everytime i go to the jail the guard always agro on me and start beating me , and even if i paid to get out they immediately start attcking me XD RIP
Yup I had to kill them all now Hugo killed bratt and the quest is stuck I brought them all back to life and I cant proceed uggh
You can get those daggers earlier. There's a chest after the cutscene where where Hugo is climbing the ladder and Lanzo kicks him down. There's a chest in a tent before you climb the ladder.

So how can i get this hugo a job?? I want the item that hugo will sell after take isaac shop....

Did you kill one of the guards, or especially a guard named Benjamin or benjiman ?
however I heard that he should be revived because he is the one interfering in the cinematic scene (my pawn was infected with the plague and killed half of the people of Batal). I revived most of them, including him, but so far they stand without doing anything or without a cinematic scene. Try reviving him if you kill him.
if you cant do the quest its a side quest its not important to do.
Wilhelmina got arrested in my playthrough and now I'm not sure if I can still offer him the job there. I also killed lanzo before saying anything to hugo. Think I messed this all up.
Try offering him the job and let me know if it works. But it's okay, it's understandable if you mess things up on your first playthrough!
@NinjaPups was able to offer him the job up at wilhelmina's place. Didn't get to romance wilhelmina or Ulrika in this playthrough, progressed to far for Ulrika and did wilhelmina quest slightly wrong.
Benjamin doesn’t show up on my quest. Is this a bug?
Yeah kind of. After completing tolled to rest, the only advice I've seen is sleeping till morning for a few times in your house in bakbatahl. Hopefully that causes him to spawn. But beyond that, I haven't been able to find any info on it. :/
Hugo is standing with his back to me too far away to interact lol, this game is so dumb.
I had the same problem. Also, the guards would attack me. It’s tricky, but if you haven’t already found a way or moved on lmk and I’ll explain what I did to complete the quest 😮💨

I believe I bought them from the checkpoint rest town, im pretty sure they are called "Spite." They look a cool purple in some of the footage because my mage imbued them with thunder damage.
