I have nothing but serious respect for her. Not only is she a great athlete, but she has the brain to match. I'm sure it took a lot to get back on the ice, but man -- she's was better performer here than in her earlier skating career, even if she doesn't quite have the moves down anymore.

You, Ma'am, are an inspiration. I am a huge figure skating fan from London UK (and now an attorney) and you were always a great example of what it is to be a well rounded individual - to work hard, diversify and deliver in so many different aspects of life. Much love and respect to you.
Debi Thomas skates like a technician and combines a great interpretation of the music. I always like her Olympic skate and so she had a couple of oops on the jumps. It appeared to me that her nerves were wound tight. So what. She is a good skater and she deserves her place among the best.
Another female (or male) African American figure skating champion would be huge news these days, like the Williams sisters or Tiger Woods. Where are they ?
shes actually stilll shaped the exact same way she was in the 80s....just a bit bigger...but the exact same frame..lol i hope im like that wen im older
@who1cares Many skaters have worked there entire life in skating many went on and won olympic gold others without and they have all contributed to this sport. As I stated earlier her talent is she a fast skater with good jumps she won the olympics with points given by judges for her speed and jumps. You have bashed Michelle Kwan if you are such a fan of YA-NA-KIM you would know that she was her idol growing up. The book for you learn the history of figure skating not about who won at vancouver

Three things: 1) orthopedic surgeon? Way to go girl! 2) I should look so good in a mid-drift top-she looks fabulous for her age! 3) I thought the person who introduced this video was a guy from his voice-but when I looked, it appears to be a woman. Anyone else baffled??
Why isn't it ever mentioned that she is the first African American, Female or Male, to medal in the Winter Olympics? I know she has a lot of successes under her belt, but this is a very important accomplishment.

She looks fabulous, period. I've seen girls in their 20s with flabs and rolls for a stomach.
Looking at the neck muscles she made her voice get that deep over time
