It became obvious what each tug was assigned to do from the clear way in which you filmed the action, while we could catch brief views of waterfalls on some of those vertical bluffs. From the fact that you turned the Kapitan Nazarev around, you came from up-fjiord, so that he was turned to face out toward the open sea, then went back up-fjiord to your base. That would be a lot easier for the larger ships, for sure.
Thought it was, I have been to Norway on the cruise ship Van Gogh, went to Bergen etc, very beautiful country, defo coming back again one day , love it there.
Vulcanus is habour tug in Bergen since 1959. Now retired from full job and listed as protected. Still in top shape, all sertificates complete and still does the odd job. And back in original colurs.
We call them pelican hooks and yes we do use them in the U.S.A..Mostly on conventional tugs since the z drives have forward winches with ship lines but even those have a pelican hook(tow hook) on the stern.
