"CHERNOBYL" (Lyrics)
VERSE 1
Death crawls through the dark streets in silent flight, unsuspected while the world sleeps on an April night. Like an unseen enemy reaching out for the kill, once again writing history by our own free will. Like a virus in a dead land slowly eating away life, chasing the vision of a blind man in a world without sight.
HOOK
We’re sleeping in the dirt of Chernobyl still tonight. Forgotten where we’re from, lost in where we’ve come. We’re sleeping in the dirt of Chernobyl still tonight. Dying from inside, poisoned by our pride.
VERSE 2
Create a monster we can never tame... the ambition of fallen man. Engineer your grandchild’s pain for castles in the sand. Become our own worst enemy while time stands still, once again repeating history by our own free will. What’s left is a ghost town, block homes like tombstones. The dead memory of a showdown that tomorrow won’t know.
HOOK
BRIDGE
Looking down in the eyes of Heaven, it’s pride set on fire. If we could see it through the eyes of Heaven... just pride set on fire.
HOOK - Hudba

this song is actually, in part, a biblical reference
@@joemattox7525 I think if you take wormwood and put it in google translate and put it to Ukrainian and or Russian you get "Chornobyl"
@@linkplays95 Ukrainian :) exactly what I was referencing. The biblical spelling of the star is wyrmwood
@@joemattox7525 I didn't know thats how they spelled it, thats cool.
This guy came to my house and got some light kit sold by my mom. I didn't know who Crucifix was but now I do and I love him! Great singer! I am gonna sub to this channel!

The first I've been conflicted over.
Preface - I was 14 when we lost Challenger and Chernobyl just months apart, leaving an indelible scar on my heart forever, having experienced both at a young and very impressionable age, and living just miles from a powerplant in Cincinnati. Chernobyl leaving the heaviest due to the level of devastation and prolonged human suffering and death, to the nation, and to those adjacent. Picture a couple dozen confused dormitory families standing on a footbridge in the glow of Chernobyl , otherwise in complete darkness of night, with ash showering them from above, and as the children run and play in the falling radioactive debris. That describes the scene from a fictional miniseries I watched from the points of view of the workers and families in the days leading up to, as happening, and in the subsequent fallout, of academics and leaders in neighboring countries, and of those charged with cleanup efforts. No other show or film that I have viewed about real life human tragedy and suffering on a mass level has affected me on such a deep level, with The Day After being the other, and it is predictive, not historically based, but a cautionary tale nonetheless. Both relating to nuclear disaster as well, in a sea of other options readily available.
Having said all that, one would rightfully suspect that I am against nuclear, when in fact, I am an advocate and proponent, please let me explain. Barring the events of Fukushima in 2011 and Chernobyl in 1986, nuclear is proven to be the safest, greenest, and most effective form of energy there is, and with its potential for reaching the most homes and communities. Chernobyl was in large part due to using inferior materials, poor training, and lack of oversight involving 50 year old technology, which might as well have been before Christ when gauged with today. It produces near zero carbon emissions but is hated by the left because they can't profit from it, even though it has the potential to lift developing nations out of obscurity and abject poverty, and the right only knows how to be reactionary rather than proactive and visionary. Rather than rely on us to survive, they would be better served if we provided the means for them to enjoy the sense of doing it themselves, understanding operations and safety from inception, and while realizing the modernization and prosperity therein as a result. Teach them to fish.
I only came around after the left started pushing so hard against it, and knowing they only push back on good, I did my due diligence. The only positive to being disabled is the time I gained in return that allows me to chase rabbits when others can't. But I had the corrective surgery 8 months ago, and was cleared for heavier duty 2 months ago, so that spare time won't last, and happily so! But anyway, Once accounting for how it happened, and dispelling with the invalid fears, manufactured hysteria, propaganda, and agendas, I was able to evaluate all of the factual data still remaining, bringing me to my earlier conclusion. The Russian people were lied to and gaslit the most, as was the ideological mindset at the time when it could make them look bad, much worse than by today's standards anyway.
I could go on forever, so in conclusion, the Titanic and Hindenburg were also horrific and tragic events, but we learned and improved our approach to safety and engineering, and now we have depth finders at Walmart for $200, and goodyear flying overhead while watching us eat cake. While not on the same scale as Chernobyl or Fukushima in terms of potential for lost life, nor are they able to lift entire nations out of poverty, heat the deadliest of winters and cool the deadliest of summers, and provide clean power to not just the underprivileges, but who have never felt warmth coming from a vent, or slept in a cool bed. Such an event, as tragic as it was and still is, should not keep developing countries from realizing their own potential, and experiencing the benefits of it. It's there turn for an industrial revolution too, and stand proud on the accomplishments they made to ensure prosperity and hope for future generations. From a risk reward perspective, factoring in advancements in safety, engineering, and technology, there is no better form of energy production that can provide the most benefit to the greatest number of people. Romans 12:10. I haven't had the opportunity to watch your docu videos, and you have been there, I haven't, so i must rely solely on raw data, news reports, and documentaries, while you have the direct human element and reporting, also crucial to the whole picture.
But putting human emotion aside about the past, nothing from the 1986 event is still an existential threat in 2023 with the advances in safety and engineering, except for the unpredictable human element. Love the song, love why you wrote it and where it came from, which is why I give your music such more consideration than other artists. Who knows, maybe we'll sit on the same side of the table at a future conference on the very topic, I would truly enjoy the privilege.
