- This pair of vice grip players was found a foot in the ground while digging post holes to build a deck. The pliers had been in the ground for many years. The pliers were completely rusted shut. This was a very difficult restoration .

The correct name is locking pliers, vise grip is only a name brand. This guy has more incentive than me, I’d have just bought new ones.
Mole Grips.
@@lawrence.porter that’s one I’ve never heard
Sometimes we restore stuff just for the pure fun of the challenge and the result
@@williamstyers4264 I understand that, I’ve restored antique fans, a truck, boats and many vintage atv’s. Currently working on a dirt bike. Just don’t think I’d have the patience to restore something like this
I don't think I've ever seen an electrolysis set up like that. It's very impressive.
An amazing amount of work for such a rough vice grips. But they seem to keep on working anyway. Thumbs Up!
good job bro, respect to your effort of restoring that ols rusty vice.
Absolutely Incredible Job!!!
That was a tough one. They came out pretty well considering what you had to work with.
Dude the tools that you used. Awesome 👍😎 friggin job.
Excellent work👍
Awesome fun project 🙂
You did it, congratulations 👍🍷
Great job !!!!!
First I would have used a hammer to knock the really hard crusty stuff off without damaging the locking pliers. Then I would have followed it up with a really good go-around with a stiff wire brush to get most of the mud and crud out. Following that if you were going to remove rust electrolysis you might want to take a file and expose some metal completely raw in a couple of spots that you then want to run your wires to for better connection. The result you get will be dramatically improved. You won't have to do it three times for starters. Evapo rust is a good option although you didn't need to pour in quite that much. Meanwhile I think I would have just gone and picked up a new pair of pliers. Too labor intensive and not cost effective to do a restoration like this.
Fun to watch though. Although I will admit sometimes doing a restoration just because you can and to learn new skills is always worthwhile.
Weh! That's neat after that much scaring
Bro work 5+

At first I thought fossil toad.
Pretty sure he fixed these for no other reason than the fun of it. 😁
In Brazil ( alicate de pressão) name
Cool.😊
Quedó mejor que todas tus otras herramientas
Nice 👌🏻
@2:40 That's a nice knife. Hope it wasn't damaged on those rusty pliers.
What a brilliant restoration. If the metal was no good and it fails, you have nothing invested but time. If it succeeds, you have a free set of pliers. Hats off to you. I'm guessing that short strand fiberglass is the same as Bondo? For the benefit of the naysayers, names like Bondo, Vice Grips, Band-Aid, and so forth have universally become the names of products as much as they are brand names. No one needing to cover a wound and control bleeding shouts, "Quick, where are the adhesive bandages?" Hahaha I call those pliers "Vice Grips" regardless of the brand no one I've ever known refers to them as anything else. I'm sure the brand owner of Vice Grip pliers greatly appreciates that. That's the goal of all brands, to become a household word.
*They are called 'Vice Grips'.*
Only in the same way a vacuum cleaner is a Hoover. Irwin owns the Vise-Grip name and the generic tool is called locking pliers
for 9.98 at Walmart you can get 3 in one package of different sizes . That's why people just throw tools away rather than fix them . There was a time
when we took care of our tools (oiled them) . How many people even know what an oil can is?
Esa llave resucitó!
Nice job, but this restauration service cost 10x more than a brand new plier.
But the ad Money that I made off of this video is enough to pay for lots of new tools
@@-GetGoTv It is true!
Looks like another Pompeii body..
Is it worth the effort?!
The ad review I'm making off this video makes it worth the effort
In England there called mole grips
With all the corrosion & pitting on those things I'd just toss them out !
also could be sand blasted
Vice grips.
Get yourself a bench grinder with a wire wheel.
Got 2 of them
Lazy spanner! For when you are too bloody lazy to go and get the right size spanner. As it was called by an instructor many, many years ago.
Those are called Vice Grips, by the way.....not pliers. :)
Vice grip is a brand name not the name of that style of pliers.
kfc chicken to wrench restoration
I don't like this restauration. After a great work of cleaning and recuperation, the use of fiberglass is awful. Always is better the metal in his real situation. That's what i think!
The fiberglass only fills the pits In the metal
@@-GetGoTv Exactly! But is much better with the pits, the marks of the time!
Seriously, just buy a new pair.
Why
I don't like your finish job.... sorry
What would you have done to make it better ?
👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
rust remover is not what i thougt...it seems, pie do the same work : if you have drunk before many bottles acid😮😮😊
