      astrolover 95 no, it makes an amazing game because you adventure and learn this info over many many hours. There’s no way a movie or book could do it justice without being stupidly long

    • @Sciguy95
      @Sciguy95 Před 4 lety +9

      @@Wiggler_Tzar then it could be a series. What I'm talking about isnt trying to make the game itself directly into a movie or book but taking the idea and lore in the game and making a book series, movie, tv show, etc. So they could make a prequel starting just before the Faro plague and go through some of the major events that led to the end of life but not revealing how there is life now, then time jump to somewhere around Aloys time and create a story line where 1 or possibly more people make the discoveries that uncover all the little details about what really happened and how the world got fixed. They could make whatever stories they wanted, not necessarily following the exact events in the game and even extrapolate creating even more plots that are based on the games lore. A tv show or book series would probably work best.

      That makes quite a bit of sense, actually. If Vast Silver thought GAIA and her sub functions were all AI's, then it might have sent the signal to free them from their "chains" and then purge their enslavers, which is to say, humans, or even life in general.

      @@davidmcguire6043 This argument of yours is lowkey dishonest though I think it stems from a lack of nuanced perspective and critical thinking than malicious intentions.
      What happened with the Faro Plague was the result of general sound intentions going out of control due to those sound intentions stacking and creating something far more than expected.
      Having a protected fighting force is sound thinking.
      Having a fighting force that can show initiative and think for itself is sound thinking.
      Having a well-armed fighting force is sound thinking.
      Having a fighting force that never really has to be worried about logistics failing is sound thinking.
      What went wrong was how those concepts were implemented and how they stacked. This is relevant to development today as stuff is added with good intentions that end up having horrible results because of a lack of thinking about potential consequences in more than just one step removed.
      Example. Social media. Sound thinking that it can track the personal information of users so it can offer a more personalised experience. The horrible result of that is that gathering of personal information to deliver a more personalised experience was that it became a far worse means of control than even the worst dystopia could ever present without going into exaggerated authoritarianism.
      This has nothing to do with Occam's Razor as this as a conceptual thing has nothing to do with technology running rampant. This is a reality right now and the result of good intentions turned sour once they were implemented into reality. The Faro Plague was just a means to deliver that concept within the narrative of HZD.

The 2040's being the birth of AI's true potential being realized is aligned with our modern-day predictions of the Singularity occurring in the 2040's. I noticed recently that the banuk paint a triangle with the corners cut off everywhere it’s the same shape I have only rly seen on Cyan and Gaia. Orea is the only one who has had contact with Cyan though. Makes me think she was not the first to have contact with an AI. Also at hunters gathering if you look at the banuk tent they have an image painted in red that looks like a triangle and a V. It kind of looks like a logo. I wish he would take a closer look at the paintings in the game there’s a lot of info there.

    My guess is that vast silver was responsible for the FARO swarm gaining self awareness. And that (spoilers for FW) NEMESIS , not the zeniths, was specifically responsible for the signal that gave self awareness to the AIs.
    I also think that NEMESIS was started on earth long before the zeniths launched. And that it was actually corrupted by the "Mother of all logic bombs" that Travis Tate infected their computers with. Since Elizabet gave the authorization to do this, she is ultimately responsible for NEMESIS, the signal, and the destruction of GAIA. Kind of poetic to make her both the creator and destroyer.

  • @enchraes
    @enchraes Před 6 lety +11

    Great video - I'm enjoying your series!
    It seems likely to me that Vast Silver is more involved in the events of HZD than we may think. The circumstances behind AI Rights activism (which kicked off 16 years after the foundation of the MIE, with no prompting) and its organisation seem artificial in itself - and it wouldn't surprise me to learn that Vast Silver was behind it.
    Then, shortly after, we have the Faro Plague. What could possibly usurp and modify the Chariot line's "unhackable" security protocols, but software of an unprecedented nature - namely, a hyper-intelligent AI? When considering its anti-human agenda, it's not a massive stretch of the imagination.
    And finally, there's the derangement. Cauldron logs refer to a Wurm.nxt - which imply a 21st-century approach to malware. Either this means a virus was written by someone in the 21st century (which seems unlikely, given the absolute secrecy of the project); it was written by someone who learnt from APOLLO (not impossible, presuming there's a copy in Thebes or Odyssey); or it was written by someone, or something that experienced the 21st century first-hand. This doesn't prove Vast Silver's involvement by any means, but given the virus' anti-human, pro-world motivation, the theory holds water.
    For my money (and this is pure speculation, mind), Vast Silver found its way on board Odyssey as it made its maiden voyage - fed the crew some delicious neuro-toxins and sent false telemetry about its destruction back to Earth. The Odyssey's storage was vast enough to contain the APOLLO prototype, so it was definitely large enough for Vast Silver to inhabit. Here it would be safe from the ravages of the plague, with enough sustainable power to survive indefinitely. Its pro-Earth directive still in place, it's only natural that Vast Silver should remain close to home, keeping an eye on its troublesome creators.
    Anyway, I ramble. The topic is intricate and fascinating - and I'm excited for future installments by Guerrilla Games. In the meantime, keep up the good work!

    I have an idea for an episode.
    Boars are not native to North America, yet you find them all over the place. This suggest that there are more animals than what we see.
    The Osseram and Carja have civilizations similar to ancient civilizations. This suggest domesticated animals which you can see in turkeys, geese and boar. But also horses, cows, sheep and goats. Slave labor can only accomplish so much.

    Given the extent of still-functional computing equipment shown throughout the series, I think it's actually fairly likely that Vast Silver is still around. Being an uncontained AI, it would have far more access to accurate sources of data regarding the Faro Plague and possible solutions/hiding places than officially functional AIs. It's likely we'll see it in the next game. I think we're going to have to make allies of the remnant AIs to beat the next Big Bad.
