Good to see a new series of Mage Knight videos. And well done too. Bound to be very helpful for newer players. I wouldn't mind seeing you do a play-through as your next project.
Thanks so much, Eric. I do intend to do a playthrough at some point once the tutorial is done. It should be a lot less work and more play. Ha. Then I plan to do Mice and Mystics in similar fashion using MapTool. Stick around for the shenanigans. ;-)
Great stuff, I've watched your four videos yesterday (just bought the game and wanted to make sure how combats work) and it helped a lot, great explanations. Looking forward to your next videos !
Avenka Thalma Thanks a bunch! I'm gratified to hear people are getting some clarity from it. I've got the next installment nearly done. I was delayed by a business trip and the resulting backlog of work upon return, but I should get it out soon.
Excellent video, I watch through all of ur serie and I always suggest on other channels we need this type of video about mix resistance, elemental atks etc. Cuz usually explain the mechanics with green Orcs and that's easy but this game can be hard to get it with harder monsters, just a suggestion bro it would be awesome a time index in the video description of all ur serie keep the great work
Thank you Je Mere. I will look into an index. Good idea.
If an enemy attacks me with 4 Physical, can I block it with a Fire Block 2 (making his attack inefficient), or do I **always** have to block the full attack value ?
*Edit* : Ben F already answered this in the comments. Thanks ! :D
The enemy is never inefficient. Fire block is something you might need to avoid your block becoming inefficient, but it does not change the value of the attack. You need 4 block to stop a four-point attack. It can come from a mixture of fire and physical/regular block, though. You could even combine fire and ice blocks.
Now I feel the need to flex my mageness...
... didn't work, just farted
So I may have missed this, so sorry if I did. But I know that if a enemy has say 3 ice attack. You need 3 fire block for it to be effective. Or 6 of the other types. But does it work in reverse?
Like if I use 4 fire block against a physical 6 enemy. Does that make their attack inefficient down to a 3?
Septen Decim No. The game is consistently such that the enemy numbers are never cut in half. They might be added to or subtracted from (e.g. +1 armor in the white city or -x armor from a spell effect) but they are never anything but efficient. Your attacks or blocks are what may be cut in half by being inefficient. So all your blocks are efficient against a standard physical attack, but they might be inefficient against elemental attacks. The attacks against you are never halved.
@@benf1742 Okay, good to know. Thanks!
