Dude you're like the Bob Ross of leatherworking and I love it.
More like the Billy Mays
@@maxmartin274 he's definitely a bit of both
The beginning of the video is kind of dark but once things get started you are sooo awesome!!! I had gotten a few of the mystery bracelets in a kit thinking I could follow the directions to make them for my grandkids but when I saw the directions I was really confussed!!! Thank you for the great video that goes slow and is easy yo understand. 👍❤
A caffeinated Bob Ross
@@maxmartin274 😂 exaaactly.... "but wait, there's more!!" RIP Billy.
Can you imagine him as a teacher? He probably has a teaching background. So much fire in his belly.
This man makes me feel like i can achieve anything.
Thank you, we'll make sure to pass this along to Chuck!
Same
IKR?? Tony Robbins WHO??? This guy could motivate me to build an entire house by myself, ... and I'm disabled. lol Chuck is awesome! FULL ENERGY AND POSITIVITY!
right ?!
Could not agree more. I need more of this attitude in life. Also such clear and concise explanation. This dude would be a great teacher no matter the subject.
"I love doing it and I'm happy with the outcome" is a wonderful mindset to have for any craft
This mans enthusiasm for his craft alone makes me want to try leatherworking, which is why im watching this video XD
Saw him at Dragon Con this year...it's all true in real life... I am starting leather crafting because of Chuck
I was thinking the same thing, good teacher
His enthusiasm is contagious, fersure. He's really high energy!
Right~? It's infectious~ :D
For some reason it puts me off
im not used to this level of positivity
Damn... what type of household did you grow up in?
@F man is wack
Oi, Sass Mate
His enthusiasm is contagious, and not helping my self quarantine.
@@dylano4352 me too
I've only watched 30 seconds of this so far and I already love this man.
And I finally understand the weight / thickness relation. I so often hear "it's a five-ounce leather", and think "What the blank does that even mean?"
I'm German, we don't use the weight. We say "It's 2mm thick".
So a big thank you, for teaching the thickness.
That means the leather I have left over is about 4 ounces... And I can make a small satchel out of it, if I line it with some lighter leather.
And I even have the tools needed for a basic lacing technique.
You really know how to motivate people to go do leather projects.
I’m a 13 year old girl who is interested in leathercrafting. This channel is so informative
I learned more information in this 25 minutes than I learned in 3 years of high school.
i wanna be friends with this dude. he’s so positive i can’t help but smile honestly
Chuck Dorsett is the Bob Ross of Leathercrafting. The world needs more people that are this positive!
Can I hire this guy to follow me around as my own personal hype man? I'd accomplish so much!
I had the great pleasure of meeting and getting instruction from Chuck several years ago when he worked at a store local to me. I learned a lot from him and caught his passion for leather work. Thank you, Chuck. Without you I don't believe I'd be where I am at today.
Dang. This guy just made me want to quit my job and go into the leatherwork business.....and all I wanted to do was learn how to repair my belt. 🤦🏼♂️
SAME!!!
Lately I've been feeling drawn to start leathercrafting, but too nervous to actually take that first step and jump in. Words cannot express how excited I am to start after watching this! This video was incredibly informative, encouraging, and inspiring to the imagination with much wisdom about both leathercrafting and the artistic process. I particularly love how you expressed that even folks who don't feel like "creative types" have creativity within just waiting to be unleashed, such an important message!
Chuck is an inspiration. Novice leather worker myself, but man I watch all of Weaver's videos and every time I get inspired to push my own limits just based off of this man's attitude. He stops himself from "rolling" but I honestly love that about him. The man loves what he does. Keep the videos coming!
Couldn't agree more. I just bought all equipment needed to start with leatherworking yesterday, because of this guy.
Damn. What an amazing guy. Can tell he really loves his craft, and it's so contagious! I've gotten into leatherworking myself lately and this guy makes me feel like I could do it for a living.
Fitz he made that suit of armor there in the back of the studio shop. He is amazing
5min in and I’m hooked...This guy is 👍
Clicked by mistake .....but he has a love of his craft that deserves a sub and like.
You make me want to be a better person.
Lol.
I’m a 26 year old wedding photographer - here I am looking up how to make things from the coolest guy I’ve ever seen 😂
"Even, say, maybe a gargoyle!" Hahaha. Great video!
This CZcams channel makes me feel motivated about life
Seriously. I need to come watch these videos when I'm feeling down. You can't help but get excited!
The Best Teacher in the world.
Honest,charming,good,professional & dedicated.
No CZcams channel provides free training like this.i saw every video.
Some so-called people selling Their video courses.they’re worse than this.
The best free Leather course.❤️❤️❤️
i worked as a machinist for 6 years now, its a good and useful profession and a decent living and though i didnt find it boring i just never had a real passion for it, i realized that a few months back when i first saw your video which got me into leathercrafting, and even though i can not do it full time (not yet at least), even as a hobby it really filled this hole i had in my heart for years, so i just wanted to say Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and introducing me to this beautiful craft. Cheers!
Thank you so much for your comment! We're so glad you found our channel and excited that you gave leathercrafting a chance and that you're loving it!
Most enthusiastic leatherworker. I love this. He def loves his work.
The energy, information that clearly wants to be passed on & sheer love of the craft comes off so nicely.
Glad you liked it. Thank you for watching.
Chuck Dorsett's enthusiasm is infectious! I want to do leather 24-7... who needs sleep, anyway?
I'm a creative type. But watching another creative type bring such positivity to people that don't realize how creative they can be is definitely a treat.
After this video, I have a renewed appreciation for leather. I will never see leather craft items the same. Informative video -- thank you!
Glad it was helpful! You're welcome! :)
Was looking for a hobby. Most I was looking at needs large space and expensive equipment. How this guy talks about it I think I found my hobby, and it's easy enough my 8 year old can do it with me.
Still pricey to get the tools needed. Not so much the supplies such as thread, dyes, and leather, but the tools to do the work.
Go hunting at flea markets. No shoemaker ever buys a new hammer or pliers....
i'm 72 and wanting to start working with leather. Watching a lot of videos. This is a good one.
Thank you, Ken!
You, sir, are an inspiration.
I love Chuck! The camera loves this guy!
He's so fired up it's making me anxious
I am a wood worker and your vid was most informative, fast , clear and effective
Thank you so much!
all that energy... oh my gosh, THANK YOU!
I just love your enthusiasm, Chuck. So much awesome information :)
You did a great job on that video Chuck. I really enjoyed it and was watching it while I laced a holster. Keep up the good work!
Thank you. I can't say how much your videos boost my confidence. You make it easy.
What a great teacher. I was immersed the whole time in what he was saying
Thank you!
I've been waffling around about getting into leatherworking for years, convinced it had to be hard, expensive, and time-consuming. Then I finally sat down and watched this... I am so INSPIRED right now; and I feel REALLY confident about getting started! Thank you so much for making this; you are a fantastic teacher, and I can't wait to finally create my first projects!
Thank you LeAnn - I hope you try it and I hope you love it!
I bought a bunch of 14oz veg for black powder holsters, belts,+ accessories. With this guys help, someday my creations might be attractive instead of just functional.
I really like the energy he brings to his tutorial, it makes what he has to say easy to listen to.
Thank you for doing this video. I love the way you started simple then tied it all together at the end. A fantastic method for showing people that they can do anything with just a few basic techniques.
Thank you Chuck for a great and reassuring introduction to an amazing hand craft.
I love the positivity and attitude of this guy.
This guy is the best. My first leather piece turned out perfect because of his videos.

This man is the Bob Ross of leather!
World needs more men like Chuck.
Chuck, I have been watching your videos on and off since I was fourteen and dreaming of making my own tack for my horses. I am now 21 and just ordered the tools and leather for my first project on a whim. I’m super excited to see where this takes me :)
Great job! I learn something new with every movie. Thank you.
You're a great motivational teacher, you hit the nail right on the head with all of your opinions.
I've watched other leatherworking videos but this these are by far the best, most informative and easy to follow videos. Chuck makes me excited to create!
1.5 minutes in, ans I'm already STOKED!!! Thank you, Sir!
I found this video to be very helpful for a beginner trying to absorb as much info as possible. Really good info. He delved into a bit on each thing I really wanted to know. Leather thicknesses, rivets, ect. Good vid.
i love his energy
Billy Mays' long lost brother... what a legend this guy is
Thanks, Chuck! Great energy and passion, lots of good information.
Dang, he's more bubbly than a seltzer tablet in a hot spring

Your energy and enthusiasm are wonderful. Thank you for the inspiration. I am just starting out and feel like I can do it.
I always been in awe of detailed leather work, it's so nice and beautiful. After watching this introduction and a lot of your tutorials, I have found enough courage to work with leather myself. It's absolutely amazing!
Thank you so much, we hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
I love his energy
This whole thing sounds like one of those midday tv adverts
The best teaching I ever seen on youtube.
Thank you, Nomi!
I love your enthusiasm, Chuck, the way you teach is inspiring. I inherited my grandfathers' leatherworking tools, and I'm sad to say I've only used them a few times. But I feel a real pull to use them and turn out a number of projects I've pondered now that I've found your channel. The techniques you use to get things done, you can tell you've done this for YEARS. It's nice to see a master at work. Thank you, sir. I'll be combing through your channel for more inspiration!
Thank you so much for watching and for your kind words!
I’m 20 seconds in and I love this man.
I love your enthusiasm!

Great information on startup! Thanks so much for your enthusiasm!

Chuck, you make this stuff look so dag gum simple. I tried your sewing technique and floundered...for a minute. With a few minutes of practice though, I was on my way. Thank you sir, you are quite the instructor...Kudos.
This is amazing, I hope to get into leatherworking soon, thank you!
