      So the ultimate 2 gear boxes come in with the wires already soldered in? Just new to the RC tank scene and i've already bought some upgrades for my m1a2 abrams since people recommend upgrading the gearbox, tracks, idler and sprocket wheels and the road wheels as well. It's hard to find tutorial videos on a specific tank it seems.

      @@ericmagpantay7693sounds like you have a older version they're all soldered in. If you have a little butt connectors you can connect them like that it's only two red and two black I believe so it shouldn't be that bad

    Great Job Sir. I do add a bit of Locktite Blue on the Rear Drive Screw then Two Finger Tighten. Still Removable if another Gearbox is required. Also no "Stripped" Screws. Have fun!

    which do you think would be a good ratio between speed and torque for a leopard 2a6, the 4:1 or 5:1 gear box. Also do you know what the stock heng long gearbox ratio is? Thank you

    • @RCTanksTrucks247
      @RCTanksTrucks247  Před 9 lety

      +Michael Brown 4:1 would be fine but it also depends on the turns of the motor for speed and torque.
      Stock heng long would probably be 3:1

    Hi, I know this is old, but I just bought a Heng Long M26 Pershing with Zinc gears boxes, and I wanted to upgrade them to steel gears. How would I do that and what do I need to buy?

    • @RCTanksTrucks247
      @RCTanksTrucks247  Před 7 lety

      Hey Ronald, you would need to remove the old gearboxes and replace them with hardened steal ones. The new ones simply drop in, no mods needed.

      Just the standard Black Steel Gear will do. Use a small amount of any Lithium Based Grease for the Gears. I have had good luck with Lucas Oil, Red and Tacky. Will not come off gears or Liquify. Lionel Train Moly Grease is also good. If you can't find those, plain White Lithium Grease works well, just have to lube a little more often. I covered my Gearboxes. Actually used good grade Strips of Duct Tape. Works Great. Make sure and not Bind the Top Pinion Gear straight out of the Motor and your good to go. Keeps Gearbox clean.

    • @RCTanksTrucks247
      @RCTanksTrucks247  Před 7 lety

      Hello, similar process with all tanks. The gearboxes would be secured to a metal plate, now depending on tank, the plate my need to be taken out of the tank and then the gearbox can be removed.

  • @tacomas9602
    @tacomas9602 Před 9 lety

    * ALSO * is the Rx18 good? Mine seems fine but my remote quit workin.... idk if i got new batteries and the post is too short, thus the 'wall' blocks the connection, thus a 'broken' remote, thus, unhappy Vincent. D:

    • @RCTanksTrucks247
      @RCTanksTrucks247  Před 9 lety

      Vincent Sluga RX18 is good just for a muck around. Proportional control is stepped and the sound is very average. I would recommend the Clark tk22 as it offers great control, customisable and much better sound. Plus you can get any radio/receiver to work with it
