Camping and Tiger Fishing the Runde Gorge Gonarezhou National Park (Episode 1) July 2020

In this episode of This is Africa Outdoors we travel to Gonarezhou National Park, in the southeast of Zimbabwe. We arrive, set up, and start Tiger Fishing! Before long we hook up to some decent Tiger Fish, as well as a Huge Sharptooth Catfish. In the next episode, we camp the night and continue fishing, so be sure to see episode two when it is released!

Hallo Josh, very nice video, you said I cant believe tigerfish can swim in the river, but I have been doing research, in the chincko river deep in central Africa, the river is as big as the one you fish in rundi, there are goliath tigerfish [ Hydronus goliath] and also Nile perch, it is a protected area and has been destroyed by poachers a few years ago,they have stop poaching 90 persent, in the congo the goliath tigerfish is starting to starve out, so it is good news that they are protected in the reserve.

Hi that’s great, I have heard about the Chinko and seen a lot of videos about it on Instagram, I was actually researching into outfitters who take Goliath Tiger fishing trips, it’s a beautiful river! Hopefully we will make a video there one day😂

Are tigers native to Runde River or they were introduced? All along I thought they were found in the Zambezi River system only
