Dude this thing is the holy grail of 80 series Land Cruisers IMO. The diesel inline six turbo was similar power to the inline six gas engine we had in the USA. The main difference though is the diesel had a lot more low end grunt and wasn't stunted by an automatic, the manual felt a lot more lively because automatic transmissions from that era zapped a lot of the power.
Also I really love that cloth interior and very 90's blue/green color shifting paint. I mean this thing replaces all the worst aspects of USA spec Land Cruisers of this era, durable cloth instead of beat to shit leather, turbo diesel low end torque, 5 speed manual makes that diesel engine that much more powerful. The one flaw of the 80 series in America was the lack of horsepower, hobbled by a power sucking automatic transmission.
Also Toyota truck manual transmissions are very satisfying to operate. Yes the throw is a bit long, but you will never miss a gear. I've owned several Toyota trucks with a manual, driven company Ford and GM trucks with a manual, the Toyota trucks are far superior in terms of the gear shift(never vauge on the gear change), clutch, and are way less vauge in the steering.
It looks so mint, and only 122k? *drool*
THIS IS MY LITERAL DREAM TRUCK! Favorite color, engine/transmission combo, all my favorite. I wish it was LHD, but can’t have everything!
Land Cruisers made to last 25 years? More like a century at least, lol.
Hasn't even been dropped off its first tower block yet!
I agree ! Crazy amount of quality to last that long
The real king of the off road , the best land cruiser series Toyota ever made and hands down one of the best 4x4’s ever made . I’ve got the exact same thing inherited from my grandfather and it’s only done 150k km after 28 years and still runs as good as new, so much smoother than all of today’s vehicles . You can’t ever go wrong with buying a landy as long as you keep up with maintenance especially the older models. If only today’s 200 and now 300 series had the same feel about them they may have a more desirable V8 engine and luxury interior and features but no where near the off-roading capabilities of the 80 series
We have manual LC a lot in Indonesia (VX trim). The one rare here is VX-R (automatic version). I know someone who drives 1994 VX 80 more than 300 thousands km. He drives it as suppliers to the oil company. It was restored once last year, and the odo keep climbing. This car is bulletproof working horse.
Sweet truck, keep up the good work with the videos. I have a vx limited, diesel, auto, triple locked here in the state's. love my 80, rides better then my tacoma
That's the most beautiful car I've ever seen!!!pity can't import one to Kenya under our ridiculous 7year rule
A magnificent piece of machinery!
Locker switch empty. Almost got me there...
Lucky owner .... Awesome machines
In Saudi Arabia, most of the LC 80 we have came with a manual transmission in VX-R trim (highest trim) with inline-6 gasoline engine. People like the manual cause it’s more capable to off-road and had less issues. Even many of LC 100 had manual transmission with V6 or V8 engines (I drove one with manual).
Derek is putting out a lot of videos lately which is great. Keep it up. 👍
That engine sound is awesome
i always had a car with manual climate control, three circles, no big deal. But when i see climate control with buttons, it is really nice. I like Land Cruiser's dashboard.
Sweet! Finally an 80-series!!! Such a great condition this one is in! Will likely sell for around $30k in the US if resold by an importer! Am I wrong?
Wow, this Cruiser have part-time 4WD type of transnission (HF1A transfer case). It's a fairly rare option.
The best of the best 4×4 Toyota land Cruiser 🇯🇵👍👍👍👍💪💪💪💪I❤️Car!!! 🎥👍👍👍👍👍👋👋👋👋😁!!!

Big time jealous! WOW!
It's not a 24 volt system. It only utilizes 24v for starting. All the lights and accessories run on 12v.
Wow that is an awesome Toyota!
Nice :)
Please sell me the 70 series!
