- In today's stream we are checking out the Polyend Tracker Mini. I've found starting with drums to be very helpful when it comes to the Polyend Tracker due to how it handles samples and instruments. In this stream we will make some music from scratch using manual sequencing and some generative techniques.

Congratulations on the 12 years Ezbot. I have problems with alcohol and feel so good sober and absent from that ❤
I really enjoyed this one! Got deep there for a minute 🤓🤓
I don’t care whether there’s many Good Tips or not. I mostly watch for the general music making strategies anyway
Appreciate hearing that!
Coming from a tracker background (FT2), the one thing I found to be a very odd design choice when the OG Tracker was released was the omission of a dedicated volume column.
Yeah, they should add that 100%
“Our lord and savior…” 😂 and then a segue to La Croix
42:58 Undo exists on other boxes too ;) SP-404 Mk2 and Sonicware Smpltrek also have multiple undo levels, not just a simple undo.
Dude, yeah.
The sobriety and music passion thing is so true. It was a lot tougher to "find something to say," when I got sober. I still struggle with it now. Back then? I could write so much. I was a mess, I was depressed, and I had to let it out. When your life isnt miserable, its a lot tougher to do. Ironically, I was the same. Went from metal, to acoustic, to synths in the last couple years. Weird to think about, lol
I am glad you can relate.
VAKinc MVP with the USB Power tip. i keep forgetting about that on many devices all the time, too.
Man! if this thing only had a touch screen..
Just finishing up this video and caught your point about being sober. I just hit 12 years on 8/9. Congrats man!
Could you load in sequencer files (if such a thing exists)? like midi files but they would contain the fx information...?
Is it also recording from the built in mic ? Finger clicks on the KB?
I am using Cubase mobile daw on my phone to control vsts on my Reason daw in the PC. I got really productive using Play to operate vsts in the PC daw.. Now I am looking for a 'gameboy' sequencer for the same purposes.
Can you resample? to free up racks?
Try some removable Mounting Putty (Gorilla brand is very nice)
My peeps in Portland may go broke now , lol , But ill buy some of my modular in Seattle next
Haha perfect!
I think the gameboys need a few encoders and faders like on Faderfox Uc4 for the automations.
mine arrived yesterday. love that mic ❤ but man the buttons are so cheap. play & rec as so mushy like there's no support underneath them :/ the whole thing feels so cheap. I'm struggling with keeping it cause of the build. never seen anything like it.
how do you find the build EZ?
Thx for this live steam man!! I’ve learned a ton from this just to get me started!! One question :::: why do samples cut off if there is another sample or note below it??? Can I make the full sample play without the end getting chopped??? Thx.
Each track is monophonic so only one sounds at a time
I think if you had a sample that was say 2 bars long and you triggered it every bar then it would cut off and retrigger.. you would simply insert the your sample wherever it fits best.. might mean you have to do some time stretching or play with the sample cut-off...
When ya learn it better I wanna know how ya think it stacks up against the M8
I will for sure :)
if you have the time to spend watching a beginner find out how Tracker Mini works, this is for you.
Why aren’t smart phones used as trackers? Seems like a no brainer. I took a look at what the M8 is running on and it’s like a $16 module. Even if you make a midi device that comes with a license to the tracker app and controls it, it seems like it would be useful.
Fair point honestly
Are you still using the Polyend Play?
Yeah, now and then. I mostly use my Elektron gear
Stazma has great vids about the tracker workflow.
This thing has insane breakcore capabilities.
The big one has 64 pads so it's a great midi controler for the OT with the Map/Track control update.
Even an totally skilless noob like me can create a song on this
czcams.com/video/rXqWA4hUY-g/video.htmlfeature=shared
It's not a workflow, it's a pain ))
It's not a pain at all on the big polyend tracker - very human design very easy to use
@@klllklllklll It’s funny if you’re programmer or excel maniac. But mostly a pain if you know traditional instruments like piano. I’m a pianist & workflow looks like I programming a rocket 😄
@@SergeyCoder It does look like some overhelming ancient alien technology - but I found far more intuitive than most DAWs. The hardware UI really makes this gear fast to work with.
