A special day out in the sunny mountains although the wind definitely takes It out of you. Pitched up on a cliff edge to try get out of the wind but until 9pm suffered. After that It was perfection with not a breath enjoying the morning views down the valley. Definitely my happy place 😬

Was a bit scared to how close you were to the edge of that cliff, but you survived and what a beautiful day, with stunning views. Blue as always was gorgeous, nothing beats the companionship of a well trained dog, wouldn't be without mine.

Fairfield was one of my strangest walks, we had sun and warmth at the bottom, walked up into low cloud and snow on the top. Couldn't see anything and we were losing the light. I thought I would finally have to use the emergency gear and survive the night! A walker appeared from the clouds and just said "I'm lost as well " and went off! We finally decided on a way down and broke through the cloud. Looking back we realised we had walked over an overhang of snow! Needed a few drinks to settle down after that ( not driving!).

Heyup Bushman. Once again your video amazes me. It's almost comical now to me when you are camped in these gale-situations and it looks like the tent is about to collapse! However, it never does and you never seem really phased by it. With a smile on your face and a glass half full attitude, you continue to do all the things in the LD that I'm envious of. Absolutely splendid Sir. Oh, and what a fantastic dog is Blue! I watch several of these outdoor camping vidoes and I take my hat off to all those that do it. However, yours is the best by a country mile! When are you getting on TV?! NB: That drone footage was absolute class, never really appreciated it until now!

When you stand and say that’s striding edge over there and helvellyn, on screen it just looks like a little hill. It’s only when you’re actually climbing them the true size and terrain can be appreciated…. It fascinates me! The videos and photography are just stunning and the landscape looked like from another planet. Just beautiful. Thank you for sharing this escapade, love watching you and Blue on your adventures 💙

-105 Fahrenheit windchill on Mt Washington in New Hampshire and -36+ windchill in Boston, MA. It only lasted about 12 hours. Broke some records, great hike.

Cracking vid mate. Walked those fells lots many moon’s ago. Making me quite envious of a glorious chilly winters day in Cumbria whilst I’m slow melting in a Queensland summer.

Brilliant video as ever. As an ex-pat I miss the old stomping grounds but you and blue allow me to enjoy these places vicariously, between visits to the UK.
A bit of advice for snow melting: start of with a small amount in the pot (I usually keep half a splash of water in my bottle), bring it to boiling point and then start dropping snow balls in (allowing each to melt in turn) until you have the desired amount. It's a much more efficient way, you'll save a ton of gas . I also fill a plastic bag or pack liner with snow to keep in the tent. Happy trails Al.

Seen a notice at National Trust car park at the Langdales inviting motor homes to park over night and that wild campers are welcome to leave their cars. Wild campers are expected to be above 1600 feet. So good to see NT doing this might apply to all their car parks.

That was a smashing hike and camp All. Thank you. We finally got well enough to have a 7 mile hike up and around the Roaches and Gradbach on Friday and a local 5 miler yesterday. Hoping for another hike tomorrow, too. Lovely getting out again after being ill. 👌
