I received an email from Arizona about the Windicator wind flag. They noted it seem confused and could not make up its mind. Appeared that each function was trying to gain control. Eventually, it was blown over by the wind and broke beyond any simple repair at the range. They said it's a lot of money for something that didn't work very well and was easily damaged.
That looks like a well made piece, machined and threaded METAL!

How would this work for LR shooting?
A friend of mine purchased one of these at a lot of money. Lots of stuff going on and most confusing. It appears that each portion is attempting to control the others, some difficulty in making up its mind. Neither one of us could understand the miles per hour gage, we just figured out what it meant for intensity. Perhaps it will work well in light wind, but when we used it maxed out frequently. At the end of the day, it fell over and was damaged making it unusable. The rest of the match was shot with a standard a couple of standard wind flags. Interesting concept, may they should add training wheels.
My husband wrote this and he can't spell. But he shoots well and has several years of shooting competition. He's built several (many) wind flags for himself and other shooters and seems interested and critical of most new ideas. After using this one I don't think he was impressed. The cost was a big turn-off and the performance was nothing exceptional.
