Sleepwalker is an instant classic for me, absolute banger.
literally, dark pop is honestly the best
Ava Max deserves the recognition for providing catchy pop/dance music. People call her generic but it's fun pop tracks. I don't know why Ava is not taking off more than she is. She needs to ditch the label and go for a better one.
Apparently she has, very keen to see what she does next!
In my opinion, her singing style and songs production is way better than most popular pop stars right now. You can feel the effort that she and the producers have put in these songs.
My thoughts EXACTLY!!! Itâs so easy to let your mind go to âshe isnât bringing anything new, all her songs are generic popâ I even found myself going there when she first popped off. After listening to her more, her talent to make consistently great songs that always get you moving is exactly the reason to LOVE her!!! I was THRILLED that she got a bit more experimental on this album, too! đđ

Diamonds & Dancefloors is my favourite on the album!! It does sound a bit like a lullaby. It would have suited well being the Album intro. And I agree that a lot of her songs are disappointingly short and they feel rushed. There's a good bunch that should have been longer.

Blame it on the streaming era, shorter songs do better
really hit the nail on the head! The repetitive "easy listen" songs aren't as engaging but when she gets it right she GETS IT RIGHT. I love Sleepwalker too but can't help but think it would be better if it was faster. Bigger hits on her last album but definitely more consistent on this one and I feel like she will be more creative and experimental on her next album as she said that she had to "re-invent who she is" after all that has happened (COVID/relationships). hopefully she comes to Australia!!

Also yeah she has recently changed her management and signed under someone else which was a longtime coming so I'm curious where her future projects might go

rumor has it the original release date was in October but there was an album leak and she changed the release date hence the spooky vibes we get from many songs
Not a rumor. Original release date was October but I think the release date was pushed to Jan 2023 to build more hype and avoid music chart congestion. Atlantic Records already shipped the vinyl to distributors in anticipation for that October date. Distribution messed up and sent vinyls out to some people. Someone recorded the vinyl and leaked it online. Since it takes 6 months to manufacture vinyls you can assume that the album was finished early 2022. Hope this helps! đ

Why am i the only one who loves Turn Of The Lights?
It's not like in my Top 5, but it's so captivaing idk the almost robotc repetetiveness is soo good

no bad song, not even meh, it's so consistent and just GOOD. I'm so glad she kinda embraced her sound more, bc Ava didn't really had a true sound to herself, it was just pop/dance pop, sometimes amazing sometimes generic, but nooo D&D did what it's supposed to be done

I love "In the dark". I know it's the least favorite of lot of people but it's so sweet and the lyrics are lovely. Ghost and Sleepwaker were bangers to me, they deserved to be lead singles. Get Outta my Heart is also fantastic. The only ones that I had trouble to like are Turn off the Lights and Cold as Ice. But she has no bad songs. Perfection !

I respect your critiques but honestly I loved the album it's very dancy n its an album about being in a relationship, heartbreak , blaming n acceptance n letting go ....I think she evoloved in this era of her career .....last night on earth is a banger .... almost all songs really stand out to be perfectly pop n yet deep n dancy .....it's okay of it ain't your cup of tea but for some of us avatars , she slayed it ......

last night on earth is easily the best song on the album, JUST AMAZING OMG. The only thing that I dislike is the fact that many songs are so short, she could've done better. It's still early to say if it's a flop or if it's better or worse than Heaven & Hell

It's funny how people can have such different tastes cause "In the dark" is my favourite track on this album đ
I'm a basic bitch who immensely loves dance pop and especially disco-infused dance pop, so it's an incredibly fun listen to me. There's also multiple 90's and early 2000's samples in the production, which makes for a slightly different take on the 80's and disco revival in recent pop production. If that had been a little more on the forefront it might have felt more creative?
I agree that the songs are a bit too short and could be scarier in terms of lyrics- a bunch of songs could have used a bridge to elevate them!
Sleepwalker, Diamonds & Dancefloors, Get Outta My Heart, Cold As Ice and Dancing's Done are my favorite tracks and the entire album put Ava Max back on my radar, so I'm looking forward to see what she'll do next.
