I too would be so tempted to keep the black pearl myself too so beautiful and love the ominous reddish and pink background for sky love it is perfect. :) You rock on all your finished projects awesome job love them all :) Have a great year you and your husband. :) Well i understand your frustrated time with quilting :) My mom she tried to teach me ut me and the sewing machine hated each other lol :) Have an awesome summertime up their hugs Toni g.:)

OMG I did literally LOL at your sewing math story because friend, I have done almost the SAME thing several times. The doubled fabric has gotten me many times. About 3/4 of the way thru your story I immediately thought WAIT she is going to have way too many squares OMG, I was having a flash back at my own prior project ROFLOL. In the end, I have decided it was better to have too many than too little. Well at least that is what I keep telling myself. It goes without saying that your finishes are all STUNNING. The Black Pearl frame is perfection and compliments the piece very well. Everything is fantastic!! The spool finish idea was pure genius!! I need to do that beading edge on on of my pillows as I just love the look of it! Thanks for sharing friend!! I'm counting down the days to the PNWSS. Sending you hugs from NE Ohio.
Sewing math is hard and I don't want to do it. I finished those projects yesterday and there is all sorts of oops. Oh well. Handmade. And Colleen and Cheryl and Lori.....I need new friends 🤣🤣🤣, they still want me to quilt 😱.

@@stitchywitch42 LOL, I'm sure they are fine. I call my oops evidence that they are hand made. I tried to get my older sister to quilt and she hated it. I knew when to say when LOL. Hugs
I can fully understand the machine and hating it. I have the same problem with a Bernina 830. It hates me and I hate it. It's gotten so bad that if it can't figure out anything else to do to me it will tell me my thread is broken. I know it isn't but the only thing to do is unthread it and thread it up again. This will happen many times in a short period of time. I've decided to give it to my son and go back to my Vintage Singer machines. I love them and they love me!!!
My machine will drop the top thread if I forget to make sure that that arm is in the UP position 😱

Oh Audrey i know there's always laughs in store with your videos. I was smart this time so no pepsi being spewed anyplace.LOL i am 100% with you on the mathing For sewing. My youngest sister made a stamped cross stitch blanket for her 1st grandson. So she wanted fusible web to iron the backing fabric to the stamped part so she tells the lady how long she wanted the piece. Im like ok but its not wide enough for the whole blanket. She goes yes its long enough. I said yes long enough but on wide enough . Do you only want it on half of the blanket. The lady goes its long enough .I have never seen this lady in the store ever and I go there alot. I said can i see the backing piece please. I laid it out put the fusible web on it. OK it covers half. Now what are you going to do with the other half?? My sister goes Oh your right I need another piece the cutting lady shook her head. Please keep her away from cutting table. SMDH. Glad I was there. I love your projects Audrey. Thanks for sharing and for the laughs. Happy stitching.

When you frame a piece with glass yourself, what do you use for a spacer between glass and stitched piece?

Well, I didn’t wet my pants, but I did laugh with my legs crossed! 😂 😂😂. Just so’s you know, EVERY quilter has a similar story … some of the several similar stories. We all do it. At least your story was too much of something instead of too little. So little missy … you’re not off the hook yet! Maybe the type of quilting you’re doing is the issue, not quilting itself. Perhaps hand piecing or art quilting is more your style. Now that I think of it, art quilting is it!!! You do so well with scrapping, the next logical step is to do it with fabric. Ha!!
