That bass sounds massive. Great to see robert high in the mix
First thing I noticed bro. it's just amazing
Yeah that bass was so profound, You can feel it. Rob has found his tone in this fit with the band. He is a genius of a musician. Fuck man they are killing it.
Also great to see Kirk high...
that sounds kinda bad
@@GreeceOfTheHellenes it sounds too metallic to me, it isnt the first time they do the wrong mix with the bass.
My all time favourite Metallica song 🖤🤘🏽🤘🏽🖤
Definitely on the top for me.
Yeah !
Mine too!
Great choice
Was just about to type that this and the thing that should not be
My goodness. James’s vocals are perfection here. He sounds amazing. The band is on fire.
His voice is genuinely beautiful at several parts 😊
I'm sooooo not trying to take anything away from this, but man being able to see them live 5 times from 1986-1991 was phenomenal. I feel very lucky to have seen them during that time.
Great sound live ! They have improved their tone. And they seem to have perform much better than the early 2010-2016 period
Indeed, it sounds great. But the clean guitars sound a bit low to my ears
Agree❤
@@thetonemaniac9449it’s becausethe drums are too loud
Kirk sounds much better on the Les Paul
James and Lars are stronger than they should be in a way. Very powerful still. But Kirk... He wiffed one or two songs on Night 1 in Gothenburg unfortunately.. he seems to have dropped off significantly since Hardwired even.
Hope im wrong!
The first two opening solos in this and Fade To Black made me want to play guitar! Beautiful solos! Kirk is a legend!
❤
They are the reason I play guitar I highly recommend playing guitar it’s is the thing that brings me most happiness in this world
Metallica's at their best when they let Kirk shine in a song.
@@alarmgoesdingHe always shines in songs because of his rhythm playing and solo’s
Yeah Sanitarium I find more easier atleast the acustic part of the intro. I find FTB hard to play these 4-5-4 parts with pinky. I have just start playin' guitar for a month. Maybe I need to work on my fingers.
Kirk’s guitar tone is insanely good here
And his playing too
THE BEST METAL BAND EVER!!!!!
Gods!!!
Absolutely agree
Perfect song to listen to on the way to work and back 😂❤❤❤❤❤ 🔥 ❤❤❤❤❤
the harmony in the middle of the song, man... one of the best things metallica has done.
How do you guys get so much better over time? It’s amazing!
pre recorded drum tracks and autotune
@@blckbldng after checking your music, maybe you should try the same than, maybe it would start sounding good
@@blckbldng
Fake news.
@@blckbldng lmfao almost spit out my coffee to this. Good one.
@@MetaljonusI mean the drum parts definitely have to be fixed I’ve seen this band 4 times will be 6 after jersey. You can hear it in the latest video of One. Lars is a very lazy drummer. James being auto tuned tho idk about.
This song felt really damn good to hear whilst being in the audience!
I wish I was there😊 I might be going to the Edmonton one next year
@@TheMusicManY2 nice wished they come here but doubt it
Agreed 🇸🇪
Same for the show in amsterdam!
Hetfield is the most Hetfield he's been since 1991 - it's astonishing!
On DM era he was on his prime I think. Even better than 1991
@@ima2747Papa Het's voice was absolutely brutal in that album, and beautiful in many parts, such as the build-up to the solo in the Unforgiven III.
2:26 is WILD, straight out of the late 80s or early 90s
@@Ellie-kn7zxtotally
@@Ellie-kn7zxshit that is insane!
It's so nice to hear James voice similar to 80's-90's sound.
Good enough, but not really similar....no matter, great performance anyway 😉 !
2:26
@@DavidMayeur It can't be similar, he damaged it too much in past, and it won't get back, sad reality
@@jovik2671 You're right ! That's exactly what i think about it.
группа КИНО - Раньше в твоих глазах
Listen it please
Fantastic and unique band, one of the best band in the world! Long live Metallica 😎🤘🎸🔥!
Seen them live 3 times. And this performance proves they just keep getting better. Omg. Incredible. Thank you Metallica
5 for me, and I agree! Albeit, I've seen them in a span of only
6 years.
18 times here and the best were actually the festival tour last year (2x) and the 72s tour (also 2x) was really above and beyond
12 times for me will be 2 more in st louis and next year more in Chicago 😂
@@bryanstone1759 Damn youuuuuuuu :'((((
Im gonna see them my first time this year in July. I can't wait!
I feel like I entered a time machine in 1992 and arrived at this concert in 2023 in the blink of an eye. These guys are possibly the best they have ever been as a band, period.
Man spot on. They are well oiled and absolutely bangin
They got mad tight during Covid
I challenge any band to try and sound this good live. No one holds a candle to metallica. The fans know it and so does metallica. These dudes have been on top since 1983. That torch isnt getting passed on anytime soon. And that's amazing. The world, my world needs metallica
Bang on the money
I love this band. But come on. You could insert ANY current metal drummer back there and they would immediately sound 10x better. Listen to the studio version of this song and tell me where all the extra fills and and random snare rolls are?
@@Huddle_House56 It's live bro musicians improvise live. It's what they do.
@@RacingMiku16 maybe that's the whole point. Besides making you talk about it.
@@Huddle_House56Not. It would literally take away a big part of the Metallica sound. I'll take a swing & groove drummer, who serves the song, over any other drummer who thinks his blast beats are a song cure-all.
They're in great shape! All these pro-shoot videos from the current tour are killer! Lars' been practicing and James'singing is awesome!
this is the blueprint for „One“ and „the day that never comes“. Love all three songs
I believe the blueprint was Fade to Black
@@Q24G i think sanitarium is the blueprint for those 2 songs because instead of going from calm to heavy/melodic it goes from calm to trash metal
@@se6b760Please, please stop calling it trash! It's thrash. This misspelling makes me ☹
One of the Best and legendary songs to play live..by them at their age..with the.old school tune🤘🤘 the gang îs riffing on all cillinders🔥🔥..sounds awesome as always..have fun guys and keep the metal flag🏴🏴☠️ high and proud
Holy shit the way james sung 2:36 to 3:00 gave me goosebumps
Don't forget 2:25, that was straight out of the early 90s, did he get his voice back or smth lmao
This 1959 Les Paul Standard played by Peter Green and Gary Moore and now Kirk sounds just like heaven. Glad he’s playing with it instead of putting it in a museum.
Its been a joy getting these frequent live high quality videos from Metallica
Was there, insane! Rock on boys!🤘🏽
This song is a musical masterpiece
From a masterpiece album !
And lyrical too..
@@keepheadbangin5057No it's not.
I was there both nights. Went to Liseberg on saturday, the "day off", to get my rollercoaster fix. An awesome weekend! For some reason I listened to this song much around the time i lost my grandpa. So hearing this tune always reminds me of him. Thank you 'Tallica, for the tunes that got me through both lows and highs in life!
Killer energy killer sound...guys seem to be having fun. As always it's a great time to be a Metallica Fan!
They getting older and better 😀
Metallica 🤘
Holy shit Rob's bass fills every single gap.
I love Hetfields interpretative singing. Great to watch. Loved the energy during Sanitarium in the early years, but this is also very cool.
I often tune into these live videos just to hear Hetfield's vocal performance, he always improvises and keeps things fresh.
@@shadowledastrayHe knows where to go with the song always
Glad to see the entire population of Sweden was able to attend.
This was my first show live and this is the song that really got me in to Metallica! Such a good night🤟🏻
Beautiful. One of their absolute best songs.
Kirk played it flawlessly, on fire so he is
Essa M72 tour 2023 sem sombra de dúvidas está sendo uma das melhores da carreira do Metallica!!! 🇧🇷👊🇧🇷👊🇧🇷👊
The best sounding bass in any Sanitarium rendition
Was there! Feels amazing to say that 😍. It was a special moment as well as the clouds cleared up a bit for the sunset... Looked and sounded gorgeous 🔥
They still can hold the old songs together live. This tour is looking amazing. Hope they'll do more songs they haven't played yet on this tour so far duing the american dates this years (and all the other dates next year)
Surely they listened and then practiced this song before this concert. Perfection.
Holy shit! I can hear the bass!
So good seeing Greeny still playing big crowds all these decades later
I LOVE YOU METALLICA ❤❤❤
😊🤟
i can literally see myself in this vid front row in the snake pit it was definitely the best night of my life
HELL YEA, METALLICA WILL, AND STILL ALWAYS ROCK
"Gothenburg, just leave me alone!"
*Everyone leaves the stadium*
😂😂😂
Wow! I have seen and heard many live versions of this song in person over the years but they are really on form here. One of the best live versions I have seen and it is 2023 😱
New album is GREAT, yet nothing better than seeing old Metallica playing OLD Metallica LIVE!
Very impressed!
When you see bands from Metallica’s era play today and then you see Metallica play there is a huge gap in the quality of the stage, the quality of the sound and the quality of staying tight and in rhythm over the other bands. Metallica is just in a league of their own.
It's easy to say that when Metallica have 10x the budget most of their peers do... Also you've not heard Exodus, Overkill or Testament live much have you?
To be fair they earned that budget with how good they've been since the beginning
Epic performance of one of my all-time favorite Metallica songs. I always go back and forth between Fade to Black and Sanitarium. Loved hearing that bass!
best song off the album🤘🏻🤘🏻
I love you Metallica!❤️😊🤟
If you couldn't tell from the recent videos...Metallica still has it folks. For those in attendance at future Metallica concerts - Put the phones down and enjoy the freakin' show!
Welcome to where time stands still.

Let’s go Metallica 🤘🤘
More brutal than ever, one of their finest!!!!!!! Metallica is por vida! 🔥🤘🐐
Old, not Obsolete!!!!
They are the MASTERS!!!!
Long Live Metallica!!!!
One of the best versions of this song in these past years. Even lars sounds good (or not to bad)!
The sound quality is just fabulous! All instruments are in point. And James's voice is getting better over time.
But the most important thing is the energy and the joy the band is delivering. You can see it in everyone's audience eyes.
In my opinion, they are the GOAT, hands down.
40 + years at the top what a great achievement what a great team what a great song 💪💪💪🤘🤘🤘
Oh hell yes. 41 years running and Metallica STILL sells out stadiums and arenas consistently. Excellent tune.
LONG LIVE METALLICA 🤘
Hugs from Portugal. 🇵🇹🤟🏻
Sooooooo good,,,,, Aloha 🤙🏽
Best Metallica song
It still blows my mind that I saw this band at an all ages show in a small nightclub in Colorado Springs on my 15th birthday. March 4th, 1985. Armored Saint opened.
A lot of kids back then would trade (poorly dubbed) tapes via the classified ads in metal underground ‘zines. It was like pen pals for metal heads. We’d dub some obscure band onto a tape and send it to someone and you’d get one back. Someone sent me No Life Till Leather and it was all over. Instant fan. After AJFA it felt like they were getting too commercial for my taste.
But I’m 53 now and they became the biggest band in the world. They’re a ghost of the pure anger and fury of the old days, but goddamn it, here they still are and I’m grateful for that.
This song has one of the finest intro and main solos by the ripper Hammett.
I played this song (the Hammet part) on stage with a cover band... It was in my 20s. I still remember it when I want to feel alive!
Metallica is like the good wine❤
Kirk Hammett was one fire, on the entire Puppets album. Bad ass solos, slow solos, powerful riffs.
That song always gives me the feel, such amazing music and it’s timeless!!!
Long Live The Gods Of Metal🤟🤟
My favorite song. And I love the way he sings in this performance. I can get through today. Thank you🙏❤️
Kirk Hammett is amazing
As a man of my age...56...I am transported back to my youth and given serious courage facing my future, hearing this.
I grew up on this band and I cannot thank all of the members enough.
Not only for their contribution, to my youth, but also as I face the age of my end.
Thank You !!!
Seriously.
Rokk On !!!!
This makes me truly happy! My favorite band for my whole life playing stadiums and just being who they’ve always been..... THAT’S my Metallica!!! 🤟🏻❤️
Awesome stage system so good special song listening Favorite classic ❤🇸🇪Sweden Gothenburg
Thank you METALLICA !!!😊😊😊😊 🎉
Oh to be a teenager again and hearing this song for the first time!!!
Loving all these live bits of footage....band is on fire and Hetfields vocals are bloody amazing!!!!
It was an amazing show! Enjoyed every second of it. 😍
Wow! Very impressed with our Lars on this tour… he’s absolutely nailing it! He’s very tight, he’s not overplaying it to much and he’s got an awesome drum sound!
Kudos to you Lars…. Fuck the haters! 🤘
Tbh this song he overplayed like crazy. I was so annoyed.
Yeah not in this case tho
Overplayed with stupid fills
Yeah I love Lars but even I can admit this was a horrible performance. He can never seem to play a single slower tempo’d song right these days. Thrash stuff has been sounding great, but any of the ballads have been so disappointing
He definitely overplayed a lot in this one. I hate that he does this whenever they play slower songs, it ruins the mood imo.
i wish they would play the intro again. i love this part. however great sound and james voice is perfect
Glad i got to see this tour in New Jersey, USA - August 2023!
One of their best songs! 🤘
This song is amazing like all your songs keep it up guys 🤟🤟
The last solo i can listen to the end of time.... unbeliveble
2:26 he's really sounding like he did in the early 90s again...
For the first time I can finally say I WAS THERE 🤘
Thanks for a night I will never forget!
METALLICA ❤🤘
Guys, you are ripping it on this song, you all play like one unit. I am blown away, what a performance. You guys rock.
I was there standing a few rows back. The sound was sublime !
Man I love seeing kirk shredding the greeny/Moore les paul live.
The best song and the best ban ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Not sure if it's my new airpods but that bass is growlin and thumpin, shoutout to Rob🙌🙌
this was my first concert and i think i have a addiction now
Saw them last month in St. Louis. Still amazing.
Those harmonies sound still so amazing 🤌
First time I heard that song live was in 1986 when they opened up for Ozzy Osbourne
Cliff is so Damn proud!!
Watched this and thought to myself "I love this band"
