I remember my wife crying everytime we watched Clannad back when we were in highschool. When our kids got interested because we watch anime still, my wife decided to let the two of them watch Clannad and the kids got super attached to it. It's funny and nostalgic seeing my wife crying again because of this anime after a long time.

I remember watching Clannad After Story for the first time and bawling my eyes out the whole way and then finding this video shortly after and crying all over again. I had random songs playing and I guess youtube was pulling from my liked videos since I didn't click on a mix and now 12 years later, I'm crying all over again. So beautiful.

This instrument is called electone and starting from 2:06 to 2:20, it is a music of Ryuichi Sakamoto, "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence". Since this music is really good also, I recommend you guys to hear this too.

I still remember back in 2009, Clannad is the first anime that made me cry. I loved their OST, then I found this video, can't remember how many times I played this. Such a relaxing music.
At first, you'd never expect that a single person could play out every single part/instrument of the song themselves. Then you see this and you're like, "Wow.. That's amazing.. It's perfect!" :D

Amazing cover, especially since it was done all in one piano. No surprise that one of the most emotionally impactful anime would have a very emotional OP. Even to this day, Clannad is my favorite story ever, even out of the realm of anime.

this is bringing good tears to my old eyes... beautiful. this anime changed my life, and because of it i've grown alot. its beautiful music will always be special to me. this was a fantastic rendition, thanks for posting it. i personally recommend clannad to anyone, it's beautiful. even anime haters will find some emotion other than anger if you sit through 'till episode nine.

It's commonly found on organs too. It's not quite meant to be a piano...it's more of a way to add a bass note to make chords sound more full. In this case she makes use of it as the low notes her hands can't reach and as well as what the keyboard doesn't extend low enough to cover.

Man, I saved this cover since Clannad is my all-time favorite anime even to this day, but I came back to it for an unexpected reason. Like other people have commented, the part at 1:53 - 2:18 is Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence by Ryuichi Sakamoto, but since I've been listening to this cover of the After Story OP so often, I keep associating Sakamoto's song with Clannad. Both are wonderful pieces of music.
