@Tim Miller I dont know about more talented, they both have their moments and are both very good chefs. James did knock it out of the park with that plate though.
Ben had so much free time, that he had an entire scene of pouring sugar into a bowl.
If he had just done that with a pot, he could have made his own caramel instead of taking it from James.

I like that he sets timers to remind himself when his ingredients are done rather than relying on him remembering how long they’ve been cooking or something and making approximations which removes a large chunk of stress so he can concentrate on his more important processes more

It's not very difficult honestly, like the mug cake he made in another battle the trick seems to be make something the "normals" don't think you should be able to make in the time.
When you combine together the dishes James and Ben made you get the perfect meal.

James encapsuled the Italian tradition in one dish. That abundance made me so proud, you understand everything.
I actually think they really compliment each other for a complete meal.

I was worried this would be some sort of April Fools Day video and I’m glad to see it’s not because I love chef vs chef videos.
April fools would have been an ultimate chef versus chef pre-bought ready meal battle.
The best part of the video is Mike's description of the chef's dishes.

the mozzarella was just incredible, like in one hour that is amazing. i love the presentation of ben's better as it was neat but the fact that james made cheese in one hour is impressive
Can we do something super simple for the next chef vs chef like homemade jams/jellies,bread, and a drink. I'd love to see how something simplistic could be totally changed through exotic ingredients. Maybe something like Chopped where you get assigned a few ingredients that have to star on the dish?

I am so glad when "Janice" makes an appearance it just isn't the same with out him....i mean her.
James always takes on a lot during battles. When James says, "I love you." I replay that over and over again, closing my eyes, pretending he's saying it to me. Also having lived in Italy, James's antipasta dish looks better than any antipasta dish I've seen in Italy.
This is one of those episodes where I sit here in absolute awe of the skills and planning being put to work. James, Ben, you are PHENOMENAL chefs, I would have called this a draw and taken you both out for coffee.
It was damn clear James would win from the moment they said what they’d make.
I like how ben says "it's flour, it's sugar, it's baking powder" like they're really tasty on their own 😂

That you guys managed to make all this is in just an hour is very impressive. Ben did a fantastic job but I fell in love with James' upon its initial description. Everything on that board looks incredibly delicious and yet, it's so simple.
