Year-Long Centennial Birth Celebration of Erstwhile Chogyal Palden Thondup Namgyal Concludes
Gangtok, Sikkim - In a solemn ceremony held at the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, the year-long centennial birth celebration of the erstwhile Chogyal Palden Thondup Namgyal came to a close today.
The event witnessed the presence of Ministers Kunga Nima Lepcha, Sonam Lama, Samdup Lepcha, as well as various members of the civil society, who gathered to pay homage to the late Chogyal.
The occasion was marked by heartfelt tributes and remembrances of Chogyal Palden Thondup Namgyal, who played a significant role in shaping the history and culture of Sikkim. The event aimed to commemorate his birth centenary, honoring his contributions to the region and promoting his legacy among the younger generation.
Minister Kunga Nima Lepcha, speaking on behalf of the government, expressed deep gratitude to Chogyal Palden Thondup Namgyal for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to the welfare of Sikkim's people. He highlighted the Chogyal's notable efforts in modernizing Sikkim and establishing institutions that continue to benefit the state's residents today.
