  • After transitioning to a lower-carb lifestyle I've always wondered if I had any specific food allergies or sensitivities. I took the Everlywell at home food sensitivity test to see if I could find those answers.

I am not familiar with Everlywell's repeatability coefficient, as I haven't researched them or used their test. However, regarding IgG testing as a marker for health concerns, I can attest to the fact that Immunolabs Bloodprint saved my life, at a time when doctors were useless and killing me with toxic prescriptions and surgeries. I was chronically inflamed. I had a lump growing along my spine near my neck which took two surgeries to remove, by a brain surgeon. Plus, numerous lumps around my ears and scalp that would bleed. They gave me steroids that just burned me and frankly did not improve my condition at all. Then someone suggested I take the immuno bloodprint. I was reactive to 36 foods and egg was a severe reaction. I was eating eggs pretty often. I stopped eating the reactive foods and all the swelling and inflammation went away. I didn't need any medication.
That was 20 years ago. This experience has been repeated over and over with various individuals in my family and those in my network that I have since helped. I only find it helpful to test when someone has significant symptoms that have been difficult to pinpoint causation. If you are generally well, there isn't a need to test. My husband took the test to just see what came up, but he didn't have health issues, and his test was like yours - very little reactivity.
I have argued with doctors regarding the lies that the AAAA&I spreads about IgG testing. AAAA&I and other organizations are highly funded by pharma, note pharma makes shots to give to those who test positive for IgE reactions, however, there is no money to be made with IgG if people do an elimination diet and their illness goes away. The doctors you noted in your video knew nothing personally but were just spouting what they have "learned" from the industry. If you are studying to be in medicine, be mindful that it's hard to know what is real and what is propaganda.
IgG can give false positives, but it can also pinpoint a needle in a haystack for those who are having delayed reactions and don't know how to begin figuring out what's safe and what's not. Food for thought! ;) Best wishes.

I want to thank you so much for this comment. My four-year old son is non-verbal and has autism. We have been struggling with multiple confirmed IgE food allergies since we brought him home from the hospital. He was allergic to every formula, then when we attempted solids, he started having delayed reactions. He eventually stopped eating and his doctors say that he associates food with discomfort. He has a feeding tube now and we have even struggled to find tube feeding supplements that he does not react to-- most of them have tons of ingredients. My husband and I are so frustrated because our son screams, itches, and scratches constantly. 2 AM- 4 AM delayed reactions have become so common that most nights, we don't expect to sleep. His serum IgE level is insanely high, and all the allergy doc tells us is "He's just a really allergic baby." We can't feed him without a reaction--with the exception of Rice Chex cereal. Anyway, I'm saying all of this to say that I was on the fence about whether I would get this testing done, but your comment here has given me hope that we can find a solution for my son. I am a nurse, but I also see first hand that traditional healthcare is a business and sick people are job security, so I don't necessarily buy the whole "IgG testing is a scam," but I needed confirmation, and I feel that you've given me that. Thank you again for taking time to share your experience.

@@kayla.nelson so I just found out that there's 2 types of tests. There's the sensitivity test, which is one that you took. And that test determines how your body digests them and then there's a food allergy test. And that one determines whether you would have a reaction to them. Such as rashes or in my case, rosacea. So that may be why you don't realize that you have a sensitivity to egg whites, because it's more of a digestion issue and not a reaction. I dunno if I made any sense. So now I'm considering returning this sensitivity test and try to find an allergy test to see if I'm allergic to gluten and/ or dairy to determine if that's what's causing my rosacea flair ups.

@@abideluca2214 Hopefully you have figured out your allergy situation by now, but you can also try different blood tests which look for IgA/IgD/IgM reactivity if you aren't showing reactivity to IgE (immediate allergies) or IgG slower autoimmune reactions that this tests. You might also try allergy patch testing, where you leave purified antigen stickers on your back for 24-48 hours which are then read by the allergist to look for slower reactions than rapid IgE skin prick testing.

Allergies are immediate IgE reactions, this only measures IgG reactions which cause slower reactions typically within 48 hours such as celiac disease where your immune system destroys your intestines if gluten/gliadin/transglutaminase are present, there is typically some leaky gut to allow white blood cells to leak into your gut and these food antigens to leak into your blood causing widespread inflammation that can cause other things like skin problems. There are other slow IgA/IgD/IgM immunoglobulins which could cause similar immune destruction and may be available on other testing.

I’ve done the EverlyWell test too! And I had 2 different blood tests through my doctor that tests for food issues. The EverlyWell test matched my blood tests almost perfectly.
I never take the tests super seriously, but once I did a 2 month elimination diet, I found that the tests were actually all correct: eggs, wheat, soy, corn, shellfish, and dairy. All were problematic!
So I believe it’s a good idea to try the tests out, and once the results come in, try an elimination diet of those foods... and ask: did my symptoms improve?
Also, ps ... I was tested for celiac like 100 times (even surgically) and the tests are always different and usually negative. I’m often told that gluten doesn’t cause issues with me, but I have such bad reactions to gluten when I eat it, so I just have to stay away. I recommend keeping a food journal for awhile if you have symptoms/reactions to food. It’s honestly the best “test” to do.
