Have been looking in Naples for over a year. Then we discovered Sarasota and Venice and will be building a home in Venice.

Naples is the best location in Florida. Marco Island - half hour, Everglades - half hour, Miami Beach - less than 2 hours, Ft Lauderdale beaches - less than 1.5 hours, West Palm Beach/Jupiter area - 2 hours, Sarasota and Siesta Key area - 1 to 1.5 hours, Tampa - 2 hours, Northern Florida Keys - 3 hours , Key West - 5 hours by car, less than 1.5 hours by boat.
All those areas close by while you can live in the peaceful coastal area of paradise of Naples.
    - Can't beat it.

Great video and I was originally interested in Naples last year vet have shifted my focus to Sarasota. Better beaches and downtown and the Legacy Trail looks amazing. Also like being closer to Tanpa.

I agree with your summary. Naples is too relaxed. Naples seems more of the haves and have nots verses Sarasota and the surrounding communities. Sarasota/Venice offer a different and more desirable lifestyle for younger baby boomers. Just a better mix of people in the Sarasota area, plus good schools.

I-4 is a parking lot during daylight hours, so driving to, or through Orlando is a chore, as Polk County (Lakeland) is the fastest growing (not a good thing, unless you love urban sprawl) county in Florida.

Thank you, excellent detailed comparisons. My parents had a house in Bradenton, FL 20 years ago and I really loved visiting Sarasota. They moved to Naples where I was offered a job. I currently reside in Naples but it is quite boring and I think 5th avenue is so overrated. The restaurants are not that great. Lots of tourist shops with a few high end stores. I am interested in moving to Sarasota as I think there is much more variety in comparison to Naples. The art scene is so much more inviting and eclectic in Sarasota. The beaches and the restaurants are better in Sarasota. My concern is with the increase in prices of homes. I am on a teacher's salary and always wanted a small little house of my own. But I am not sure where I can possibly live in the Sarasota area. I have been looking at videos that you have put out such as, Bee Ridge and the surrounding area. Hmmm, need advice. Thank you for your awesome videos!

Sarasota beach parking is NOT FREE if you don't live there. You have to be a resident for it to be free - just like all the other beachfront communities in Florida

I would say no. Sarasota bus depot homeless a prob. About 3 blocks of restaurants s compared to Naples. St. Arm is nice but overcrowded. Naples better to live. Sar better to visit.

Zero homeless/bums in Naples (wont change, plenty of tax $$$ to manage it). Definitely cannot say that for Sarasota....and only getting worse w Tampa so close.

This is definitely not a biased review. A Sarasota realtor comparing Naples to Sarasota life, I wonder what would be recommended. TLDR - as someone who has owned a home on Naples Bay for 7 years, I have never heard anyone reference Sarasota the “New Naples”. Sarasota and Naples shouldn’t be compared to each other, but that’s not a con to Sarasota. They are completely different vibes that should be treated as such.
