thank you for the video, always very professional. i had previous generation octavia, the complaints i had was the start and stop system was very annoying, when the car was starting the cabin was shaking and if in traffic situation where this happens a lot, it was really annoying. Another complaint was the wind noise on the highway, it was loud, but according to your review this seems to be improved.

So well done 👏 for you. I find this car very successful, skoda has made a big step forward, it will hurt competition even within the VW group. @@autogefuel From what I understood from your test there is always this lack of comfort for the rear seats, I am a taxi in Paris and I plan to order this car in 200 hp diesel version and the four wheel drive, you believe on it will remove this defect? Thanks again
As always, excellent review Thomas - thank you. Regarding the car itself, well i am little less excited about Octavia now after your review. I don't like these particular wheels at all ( that can be solved by picking another ones ) and the steering wheel is just a needless experiment, would go with RS trim due to the steering wheel alone. Interior overall is however big improvement, but it seems that basic formula remains the same, its a car for customers, who prefer space and practical aspects. I would personally rather go with Leon, which was more sporty and drove little better last generation. New Golf is also a good work ( its just that i've never appreciated its design direction ) and the new A3 is awesome! Except premier A3, it would be nice to focus more on direct comparison between Golf, Leon and the Octavia as that's very important for many buyers, who want to go with concern VW and can't make up their mind :) Looking forward to RS and upcoming Leon ST review, keep up the good work
I would like to see a comparison between Golf, Leon and Octavia concerning the switches for lights, rear and front max heating and a few other things that seem to be very different with each model. E.g. this Octavia has three (physical?) buttons left of the steering wheel, just for lighting and the Leon/Golf have only soft touch buttons and for heating as well below the light switches? I also would like to see how the smaller Radio (e.g. Radio Swing with the volume knob) changes the operation of certain things.
Paint the central bar of the front grille silver or have it chrome plated, and it could pass for a BMW ?? Looks like this could be a very good and sensibly-priced estate car in the UK. Personally I preferred the design of the rear lights on the older model, looks like Skoda have lost their individuality
Good review - as always. I would like to ask if you had any issue with the air vents in the mid console. Some reviewer has said that the knee was banging against the air vent, so it was a space problem. Meaning the vents should have been placed differently/elsewhere. Your microphone seem to pick up to much of the background noise. So maybe you should use a microphone with a different characteristica - like shorter range or more directional. Or simply find a more quiet place for your review.
Indeed they are placed very low there, didnt hit it with the knee though. Believe me, this is the best spot we have close by here for reviewing, taking everything into account.
@@autogefuel Ok, ok I understand..... But you must have some crazy birds in Germany. They are realy noisy and sounds like mopeds, motorcycles, cars and whatever ..... yeah .... they even sounds like .... birds.....
Looks much better now, however I don't appreciate how the rear back of the new Octavia and Scala resembles the Volvo v30, that sloping glass design. Other than that what a great car for your money. Another great company car that will make many employees happy.
I believe it's the same platform as the previous A7 generation but with minor improvements and more tech? Can't decide between buying the previous gen or waiting half a year until the sales start in my country.
Better than the previous model, don't like all the digitalization as it makes driving more complicated, price wise it is more expensive than before with the higher up models reaching VW level. However, interior quality and build are also higher than ever.

Wanted to ask you two questions after your VW/SEAT/Skoda reviews: 1) Will you be doing a video comparing all 3 (or 4 with Audi) together and the advantages each brand has over the others? 2) I remember from your show room coverage of the Octavia that it had a different (more luxurious) interior with beige colors. Any chance that they will offer it as an option? Or are we stuck with this grey/silver interior?
thanks Gabriel! Well, we do have all 4 as single reviews (see video description / pinned comment) and the younger the review, the more I include comparisons between the cars in the review. To have them physical in one place at the same time requires budget, time and planning which we don't have accessible. Yes of course there will be more seating/color choices for the Octavia, hope to be able to present them to you soon.
The ride seems to be a bit bumpy. Also I'd say the colour and the rim size doesn´t at all benefit the overall exterior look of the car. Would really like to see the sedan.
Not convinced by the exterior design. I have no special emotion, no "wow effect". Maybe it's not meant to be, but for me it's an important factor. I prefer the Peugeot 508 wagon line.

@@autogefuel Not relevant. I had already exposed before, videos of 15-20 minutes even showing if the line of the car is higher or lower which we can already see, but barely showing the rear seats. Within a similar timing the guy from Carwow has time to show if there is heated seats, place for three, what about placing babies, what about place for a bottle, USB conections... Apparently Autogefuel considers all that not relevant. We see it different; but not big deal, they are your videos, do whatever you want. My fault for clicking again; big problems, big solutions: ) Apologies
2:20 Haha they forgot to cancel the gas struts away on this one, and the more expensive Golf got a cheap hood- prop. I dont really like the round taillights on this one, looks too much like a Fiat Tipo. Atleast the front got rid of the horrible 4- eye- design...
If there was anything good about the Tipo its the exterior design, thats actually a pretty good looking car on the outside if you ask me. Too bad the interior is nasty and decades behind even the other affordable brands
Those rear lights destroy the whole appeal I could have for this car. Looks extremely cheap (fiat Tipo) and totally does t fit in a modern car landscape. Much rather wait for the gold variant. Anyone heard when they are going to announce golf variant by the way?

studies show that birds in cities have adapted to the traffic noise and sing way louder indeed!

From the side it looks like a BMW 3-series touring(previous gen). lol
They've ruined it , looks more like a Volvo .
