  • As a result of the recent OBS studio 29 releases, I received some question about where to find the Twitch VOD Track setting. In this Quick Tip Tutorial, I will give a brief overview on how to enable the Twitch VOD track feature in OBS studio 29.
    Important: Those settings are only visible when the Stream Service is set to Twitch

      is there a way to still route it to twitch vod through custom encoder settings even though I'm streaming to a different service? in this case i stream on obs but it sends it to an online server which then sends it to twitch

    I have a predicament which I can't seem to figure out. During my live streams, using OBS, I'm getting feedback loop on twitch live video. I have my friend with whom I'm using 'stream together' function on twitch. I say 'hi' and then my friend hears is a bit later. I'm aware some delay is natural on twitch (couple of seconds). Then my friend hears himself talking with a continuous echoes.
    Alas, how does one stream on OBS to twitch, have a friend join the live and not get an echoes or feedback delay which stacks. Even though we are in the same 'stream lobby', he is watching from my page (live stream), naturally. Otherwise he couldn't see my live gameplay. I want real time audio as if we were in discord, whilst he is viewing my live stream.
    Thanks for taking the time to read and assist me.
    All the best,
    M

    2 days ago i tried the Twitch Soundtrack app for windows, after the stream was finished, i went to Vod page to watch back my stream,
    ,i noticed that all audio was cut off (even the sound's from games i played) and i could only hear my voice, and NOT my teammates or game sounds, as i said.,so at this moment, im trying to figure out if all this muted sound's and voice, has to do with Twitch Soundtrack? would your settings fix my issue?

    • @GreenBoxMedia
      @GreenBoxMedia  Před rokem

      The Twitch Soundtrack app is no longer required to use the Twitch VOD track.
      As long as your audio routing inside OBS (track selection) is done right and accoring to the shown there should be no problem.

    My audio cuts when I close Videomeeter. is there a way I can close it and have my audio be normal?

    • @GreenBoxMedia

      Voicemeeter has to be running at all time as it is managing your audio. In the Menu there should be a setting that minimizes Voicemeeter to the System tray instead of exiting the software when pressing the X button.

    Thank you for the tips! Do you know what the other tracks (3, 4, 5 and 6) in OBS are for? A while ago I heard that in order to mute desktop audio we had to uncheck the track #6 on "desktop audio". Now I see multiple people say it's track #2 like you. Do you know if the other tracks have different purposes?

    • @GreenBoxMedia
      @GreenBoxMedia  Před rokem +3

      Hi, think of tracks as dedicated "radio channels" you can set up your live production to have 6 different audio tracks for various purposes.
      In livestreaming you can usually only use one channel and don't have to worries about any of this. The only noticable exception is the twitch VOD track which is technically speaking a complete, dedicated audio stream that includes everything the other channel includes except music.
      For Video recording tracks can be used to separate different audio sources for example a microphone from a video playback. Having dedicated tracks in POST allows you to for example lower and raise the volume of each channel individually after you recorded it.
      What channels to use for what purpose is defined in the Settings. Usually Track 1 is the default recording and streaming track but you could choose ANY other channel for this. Same for the Twitch VOD Track. What channel to use is set up in the settings and you could use ANY channel other than the one you already defined as live track.

      @@GreenBoxMedia Hmm so if I understand correctly the other tracks, 3 4 5 and 6 are just undefined, it's not some written law that says X track is for X purpose... Ok, thank you!

      It’s preference and how you set what up to which audio track!

    So let's say in a case of example using "Advanced" rather than "simple" in Output settings:
    I set my 'Audio Track' to 1, and set my 'Twitch VOD Track' to 2, and disabled Desktop sound.
    Would this mean that, under a "Scene", I'd have to set 3 sources;
    One for "game capture" capturing game,
    One for "Application Audio Capture (BETA)" to capture the game's audio,
    One for "AAC (BETA)" for lets say Spotify to capture its audio.
    And then in "Advanced Audio Properties", lets say I do not want to capture Spotify in my VOD but I do want to capture it in stream, this means with the advanced settings I have, I have to:
    (Desktop Audio by default has no checked tracks)
    Game capture sound for Track 1 and 2
    Spotify capture sound for Track 1
    And this will play on Stream, but wont save on VOD, would I be correct?
