  • Songs and chants are fun and help the children acquire the pronunciation of the new language. But there is much more to it: developing a sense of rhythm helps the children get a feel for patterns, an important cognitive capability.

    It's a bit monotonous. I think, even as adults, we'd get quite bored of that introduction. Perhaps teaching it along with the music from the beginning would be more engaging.

    I am not convinced, for the children don't seem happy or excited.

      the teachers actions are too detailed and complicated and the children don't understand them. It's not that they are not happy, they are unsure. Any enthusiasm generated here will only be down to the fact that they are moving.
