In a case like this.....it is in the hands of the Medical Examiner (or Coroner). If the ME ruled it a suicide, there is nothing to investigate. He should know the facts of HOW the person died and if the ME ruled it a suicide, there is nothing to investigate. If the ME had been on his game, he would have observed the antifreeze and ruled it a homicide. With it ruled a homicide, the police could begin an investigation.......

Why do people keep insisting that people don't commit suicide by ethylene glycol poisoning? They very much do. Certain people want to feel pain out of guilt for whatever reason, leaving kids behind, family etc. Many people suffer from crippling depression and their families have no idea. I'm not saying I know he's innocent, but, people keep saying it's definitely murder because she wouldn't have used antifreeze, that's just not true.

I used to feel the same as you until I met on who was a really good guy . He explained most will not take a case if they believe the person is guilty . And they have meetings with the client tons before they ever go to court so they are pretty good at spotting bullshit. If they know they are guilty and defending them still usually it is just to get them off death penalty or some kind of deal not be set free ....is there defense lawyers that are just in it for the money and do not care YES . There is bad in every profession . They don't take every case . But it's our right as American to have a defense so someone has to do it . It states @ 2:22 that antifreeze was taken hours after a possibly fatal dose of oxy. I don't know how they determine that, I'm not a coroner & I know that they are not always right but I'd like to know how that is figured out, purely just to understand better how these things work . Notice how calm the husband is? It's like he's having a conversation about how his weekend went, strange. I don't think I could behave like that if I were in his shoes.

IF she took all of those oxycodone, (who were they actually prescribed to and why) that may be enough. IF she didn't take a single one, they were crushed and put into a sweet drink along with the anti-freeze. The calls from her cell phone to dealer? Perhaps they weren't made by her. Two daughters on the side of their father. A lot of questions in this twisted and turned saga.

Dennis was suspended by the state’s Board of Psychological Examiners from practicing, but by July 2017, he was allowed to reopen his clinic. Although he maintained his innocence, a grand jury convicted him on one charge of open murder with a deadly weapon in October 2017. According to an article on the Las Vegas Review-Journal dated December 2019, he was out on a bail of $250,000 that had been posted days after he was arrested from a traffic sign in front of his house. His trial was supposed to commence in February of the next year, but it was further pushed back to September due to an issue with discovery and a scheduling conflict.

Marriage problems & a spouse that cared more about money than caring about the mother of his children. That would be enough for anyone to have anxiety, depression. When I wanted to do a celebration & renewal of vows & the jerk I married said, "I don't see that there's anything to celebrate."
Yep, that's when I began my "just in case" plan. Squirreling away resources. It only got worse from there. When he pushed me from the hot tub deck 30 feet below onto the concrete, I knew it was time to leave him. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

I can totally sympathize with her grief and fear but the disrespect she showed to her grandparents and investigators was outright vulgar. Worse, was the disgust she showed for her own dead mother. Unbelievably sad. One day when she has kids she will see what it means to love your child and therefore understand her grandparents position better. I hope and pray she is one day able to let go of all that anger and hate.

@Dawn-Marie Smith No, I don't think that's accurate of the grandparents having custody of the slightly younger daughter. I could be wrong, but I just watched a dateline episode, and the grandparents stated they had not been in the same room with their grandchildren for 7 years up until the court date. I believe the court date took place in 2022. Then, it was also stated directly from the grandparents that they have no type of relationship with the girls but hopes and prays that they can reconcile before its too late. Just unbelievably sad and tragic all around.

Collecting life insurance right away should never be seen as a sign of guilt. My daughter just died and I collected as soon as possible because I had to pay for her funeral services and such. The man is guilty, but life insurance payouts have a purpose. Collecting them means the people need help, not that they're money hungry or guilty of killing someone.
