Hearing and reading things like “Branthwaite was class” in our game at the weekend. Fuck me - I watched him closely as I was there.
He was ‘OK’, that was it.
Also, twice he attempted to travel with the ball into midfield, and got panicked/rushed, mis-controlled the ball and gave it over to us.
If that’s worth SEVENTY FIVE MILLION(?!?) pounds, then fuck me, I’ll make a comeback.
He’s played about 30 games and been part of a team that are fucking dogshit and giving goals away constantly. Not all his fault, but, if he’s worth £75m then Jonny Evans must ne worth £50 at 36 years of age.

Muscle injuries are a nightmare to get over. He seems to constantly have muscle injuries and he's only 25. Can he play more than 25 games a season? I'm not sure

Once you think about bruno's inconsistency then you realize eth brought mount in to replace bruno in the end of the day

He’s an average player at best. Always has been but was pushed by the media and pundits who got another one wrong

I've got a feeling Mason Mount is going to be one of those players who has injury after injury. It's difficult to try and find him a place in the team if he can't be relied upon long term.

Still in disbelief we signed mount hes so average. Sorry tony mounts not going to tighten the midfield up he was shocking against wolves and spurs.
He was signed for the high press. As was onana. But United didn’t follow through and sign the central defender that was also needed to make that high press work this season. That’s why midfield has been as it is.
Problem I have with mount is injured most of the season and he can only play in burnos role and there's no way dropping burno we already tryed it with him in cm and he doesn't work shouldn't of got him jn the first place , hope that we are business sorted out in Spain and its not just a pr stunt great show as always lads 👍
Mount doesn’t have a best position until we have a central defence that allows a cohesive high press.
The reason we don’t is yet another example of a disjointed football structure above the manager. Buying two players in onana and mount who’s strengths are related to playing a high press. The whole reason for buying them. Then failing to complete the summer plan by not selling maguire and buying the central defender that would allow us to properly play that way this season.. Meaning the club spent 100m on two players that can’t be effectively used for a whole season, and totally ruining the season for manager, players, and fans before it even started. Dreadful way to run a football club.

I’m hoping we go all in for Joao Neves from Benfica 🤞Mount signing puzzled me at the time and still does now,just don’t know where he fits in?he would be best in Bruno’s position imo
He fits in with the high press. He fits in with providing competition and cover for Bruno. He fits in with the way teams sit deep at old Trafford and what we need to do to win and dominate and win such games. But even without the injury, it wouldn’t have made any difference this season, as the club failed to replace maguire with a defender that would allow the team to effectively play the high press. A structural failure that ruined every thing before the season even started and made onana and mount pretty pointless signings for this season as a result.

Can’t see that he’s over there for any other reason, than transfers. What is encouraging, is that we seem to be moving early for a change and not leaving it till the last minute, forced into emergency buys and paying too much.

He is definitely NOT 'doing the business' imo - prob there doing something straight forward to give him a task to do, Coz if INEOS are putting their faith in him then wtf!! Surely they aint just gonna trust him with their big first summer.
Not sure Sunday's game is a good comeback game for Mount. Although the midfield issue this year (as in previous years) has been a major problem for us. We constantly keep getting overrun in midfield, which keeps leading to opposition teams dominating the play. But is Mount just another 'sick note'?
As for Greenwood he'll be moved on I'm sure, but I'm also sure he'll become a superstar somewhere else.
Should have used the funds for Mount on Casemiro long term replacement, holding and deep lying playmaking midfielders that are press resistant is what’s missing..Kobbies breakthrough is great but having only one option is bad plus Erikson is old

Will be interesting to see how Mason fits into the squad now with the emergence of Kobbie Mainoo in midfield.
I can see Bruno possibly being shifted to the right as we’ve seen in the past (which I think is terrible) & Rashford continuing in front with Garnacho left until Hojlund is fully fit. If Rashford really does not find consistency then it might be time to give him an extended spell on the bench. Mason can play on the left or right if need be.
All that will only cause chaos & more conflicts with ten haag & more players ,mount should wait until next season when he has fully recovered before he starts playing for mu again

To be honest the way Casemiro is going, I wouldn't mind seeing Kobbie as the 6 & Mount as the 8, with Bruno at 10. That wasn't the midfield I would have thought of working but we have to try it at least. I'd rather give Bruno a rest altogether than keep putting him in different positions.

Mount was bought to eventually replace an aging Bruno. IMO.
Mount is brilliant in all phases tbh because he can read the game well, unlike many of our midfielders. Hes a combination midfielder who suits our striker more as Højlund likes to combined with players around him so i could see Mount in the 10 but he also works hard and can help out his defensive midfielder. There's definitely a place for him im more concerned about the players around him not being suited to us

Man United mismanaged the Greenwood situation in my opinion. They let external influences play a part in internal decisions. They didn't defend Greenwood as their employee and that is what could be bothering Greenwood.
I like the fact that they leant their lesson from that and handled Anthony's case differently. Their decision to say "we're standing with our player until proven guilty" was what killed the unnecessary intervention and distraction from the media. Sometimes in PR management not doing too much actually does enough.
Greenwood is our solution to the right wing problems. If he was playing the money spent on Anthony would have been deployed elsewhere.

He is a number 10, so at best he was always going to be a £60m substitute (behind Bruno). To then consider that he's never been fit to play fully demonstrates the incompetency of our recruitment team.

It works with them both in the middle against teams that sit deep and United playing the high press. But the club didn’t buy the central defender needed to play that way effectively.
