Hi Brandon and Stephanie,
Kayson’s injury was caused by a freak accident. Don’t beat yourselves up over it nor deny yourselves and the children the joy of the swing. However, lowering it is a good idea. Children are so resilient and bounce back quickly. Kayson is strong and has the strength of his parents to help him through. He will be running and jumping with his brother and sisters in no time. I will continue to pray for his complete healing and the comfort of the entire family.

How are you two doing? Hang in there; I know you will do the best for your kids. We always were told we had to roll with the punches. How true that turned out to be. It’s so wonderful to see a real family and your everyday lives. Sorry,your son was injured my prayers go out to all of you and I will continue to pray for y’all. I use to pray 🙏 all the time for a family like yours. I am 77 now and to see what you have made me cry. I had to take a break. I never had a Father (only my heavenly) but there was one who considered himself to be our Dad. I had one older sister (6yrs)and one brother (4yrs)older. We never called him Dad just Junior. I have never understood why my Mom loved him too allow him to abuse us the way he did and got away with it. It started when I was four I had to go home and live with my Mom because I was going to have to go to school. I was living with my Grandparents my Moms. I cried so hard, and when I got out of the car I ran and climbed up a tall crabapple tree and didn’t come down for hours. I didn’t like him never did and I made it perfectly clear until the day he died. I only went to their house to see my Mom. He was an alcoholic, pervert, rapist as proved in a court of law in 1959. For me I was only four when it started and that’s all I will say about that now. My point is I always told my closest friends in the 70,sappreciate your Dad I never had one; anywa

I felt so bad for him as they were loading him onto the stretcher! Prayers for him to have a speedy recovery and good pain management during his recovery! The doctor explaining the surgery procedure and about getting you up to a room had a great bedside manner talking to you all! Love medical personnel that will take the time with patients and family to throughly explain things and answer questions.
The physician speaking was a 5 or 6th year resident. I know this because he said he had to speak to his boss....i.e., the Attending Physician. And if a doctor is going to be in any field that pertains to children. They should have a good bed side manner per. I'm an attending surgeon at Vanderbilt University, Medical Center. The break looked clean and he should make a full and complete recovery. Kids respond faster than adults when it comes to recovery. And as a surgeon, a good surgeon will always take the time to explain what's going to happen and what to expect afterwards. To the patient and family. Don't think Cayson is going to like it when they pull the pins. But they'll numb it well and it only takes seconds to remove.

@@janetcolyear8990 a wrist is different than an arm. how many screws and plates did you get? And the fact you are old not a growing child. I have seven screws and plate and the surgeon said he wouldnt put a cast on me. titanium is stronger than a cast.
As a former nurse, I’m anxious for you folks. Kayson, you are a trooper. I’m proud of you. You have a super doctor who fixed your elbow and arm. I was watching on facebook for an update. I'm really glad my brain finally kicked in and thought of you tube! So good to hear all will be taken care of and he'll be home soon. My son spent months in the Childrens Hospital in Chicago back in 1979/80, I know how scary it can be when you can't do anything to help your child. Prayers going up for all to go smoothly over the next few months.

Thank you for the update!! So glad he is on the mend. Now for you and Steph to allow yourselves the time to heal also. It takes a lot out of the parents when the child is hurt. Doesn't hit you till they are for sure going to be okay. Then comes the emotions, the fatigue, and everything else. You were on an adrenaline rush and crashing takes a lot out of you. He also got a couple pins; his wasn't completely broken, but fractured. Doc also told me that this was common for children his age. Stay strong!!🙏❤

Brandon is law enforcement so of course that personality is work, however being a good dad who loves his wife and kids every day and one who loves so deeply that emotions aren’t anything to be ashamed of just because you are crying for your son who is hurt beyond wiping the tears and telling him that he’s alright..

Dear Eddy family, I’m so happy to see Kayson could make it home so soon. Little ones recuperate much faster when they’re with their family and familiar surroundings. He was so pale when he was admitted, and the day after surgery he had a lot of his color back. Kayson you are one brave little man, and that’s a fact! So glad Cayson is home. As a mother of 3 (26, 28 & 31), these things happen. Don't beat yourself up. If it makes you feel better, my youngest broke his wrist in a minor bicycle accident and he went to football practice and played a full football game before I figured out that it was more than just sore. He went a week before I took him in. Parents are human and kids are kids....things happen and it isn't your fault....or anyone's fault.

10 days for my daughter with 2 broken wrists. But even the doc didn't think they were broken so that made me feel better, lol. Things happen. He's in good hands.

Brandon, you’ve done what a lot of men would of done. It’s hard, when our kids are hurt, thankfully you live close to a children’s hospital and they see that type of injury all the time.
I think as parents we have to remember kids are resilient and tougher than we think.
🙏🏽 to Kayson on a speedy recovery and hopefully they’ll give him something to keep pain manageable at home.
The Hospital staff are great, but it’s really hard on them since they’re so understaffed

Kayson was strong and brave in the hospital. Being a patient and having surgery is even unsettling and scary for adults, but he handled it very well.

Glad your son is doing okay. I know, as a parent how hard this is. My son is grown now with kids of his own, but when he was growing up we went through this 4 times. Broke each arm twice. First time he was 4 years old (wreck on his toy tractor); second one was on yard swing, then 2 more on ATVs. This video brought back some memories.
